MMTPT217 ~ September 25, 2012 ~ They Just Wanna Be The Best They Can Be!
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #217
THEY JUST WANNA BE....
THE BEST THEY CAN BE...
AT THE WOMEN'S MINISTRY TEA!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. This is one of those pictures that you take one look at and from the very minute you see it, it inspires beautiful thoughts. I know it will inspire the most beautiful hand made cards. I love the lines in the teapot, the beautiful flowers and the dark background! We did good last week at the most elegant wedding ever! We only had one wee little Teapotter incident and that was when a handful of teapotters got in an arquement over who was holding their pinky the highest which eventually ended up with more cake being worn by the teapotters than eaten by the teapotters, but it wasn't really an issue because all the Teapotters brought so much cake, there STILL was plenty for the real wedding guests! The Teapotters just don't fail! And that is why we are ready to feature a couple of teapots like this!
2. After all of the teapots we have seen throughout the years on Teapot Tuesday, these two definately are determined to send a message to all the silly, goofy teapots we've featured in the past. They sit here in their Sunday best, prim and proper, ready to please the eye. These two look like a well polished team, each enhancing the beauty of the other! But I am here to tell you the rest of the story.......
3. As beautiful and calm as these two would appear, one would never know they are scared, worried and a little concerned. To explain, let me tell you why they are dressed in their Sunday best! It's for a contest you see, for the Women's Ministry Tea. An audition if you will, that has them sitting still! Thanks to a professional portfolio put together by the most talented photographer in town, these two have been chosen to grace the tables at a local Women's Ministry Tea! They both have different ideas of what to expect. It's very embarrassing to admit, but they have never been to church before. It's not something they want the general public to know because that leak of information might take away from this incredible honor! They just wanna be, the best they can be, at the Women's Ministry Tea!
4. What's a teapotter to do to prepare these two? The dilema you see, is its a Ministry Tea! What should they expect? They don't wanna see this chance wrecked! The challenge this week and what these two seek, is church 101, can we get this thing done? Time to do a little schoolin' and I'm not foolin'! It's unbelievabe but really really true, theyv'e never been to church, that's amazing, who knew? It's Tuesday, 4 days before Sunday, and plenty of time to teach about church. Bring all that is church! Bring singing, bring praying, bring encouragement. Bring angels, bring hymns, bring scripture. Bring stained glass windows, bring crosses, bring comfort. Bring flowers, bring beauty, church to us all!
CHALLENGE DESTINATION:
Make a card inspired by church. Show us the decor, the music, the friendships, the prayer. Show us scripture, and song, bring a friend, come along!
EPEC: (EXTRA POINTS FOR EXTRA COOKIES)
You get extra points for extra cookies if you bring a friend along with you. Encourage one of your stamping buddies to make a card for this challenge and send it to the recipient of our cards this week. Share your church going experience on Teapot Tuesday with a buddy of yours for extra special cookies!
DESTINATION STATION:
This week our destination is Madison, Alabama. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to Dorothea. Dorothea is the mother of fellow Teapotter Kathleen (Kathleen Lammie). Dorothea was recently re-diagnosed with cancer. Back in 1988, she had breast cancer and a single mastectomy. The doctor suspects that is where this new cancer originated from. For more information as well as the address to mail your card to, please visit Post #316 in the Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is totally 100% voluntary!
Here is a Quick Link to the Teapot Tuesday #217 Challenge Gallery.
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT217 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given Mothermark permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Saturday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send her a pm with your email address if you wanna be a Cheater!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges. Feel free to grab this I survived Teapot Tuesday Badge for your blog!
First and foremost! A BIG Thank You to Cindy Mothermark for suggesting a Teaparty for my Mom's 81st birthday. My Mom has been thru some difficulties lately, so this is especially kind! Also thank you to each and every one of you sweet ladies who takes time to make my Mom a card!!! I know we all could have had a tickle as we always do at the end of the month, so please know I TRULY appreciate everyone skipping the tickle this time.
Everyone here is a special person, because you are giving of your TIME and TALENT. I pray for many blessings to you and your family! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!!! xo
Kathleen
I missed all the elegance last week because I have a bad head-cold, and sometimes I think it's more realistic just to move on than try to play catch-up :-( - but I have an idea for this already and will do my level best to get something made after work today instead of going to bed for an hour.
An autoharp - wow!! I haven't seen one of those for years, we used to have two.
Newbie here! I've been stalking a lot of the challenges but not frequently playing. I did make a card today for this challenge. I'll get it uploaded to my gallery shortly.

Here is my card for Kathleen's Mom. Mine is a get well and birthday card. 81 years is definitely worth celebrating. My Dad will celebrate 90 years in December.
Kathleen- Thank you for sharing the photo of your Mom! You have her same happy face! You and your Mom are so lucky to live near each other! Glad to see you decorated a BIG box, as it will surely get filled up! A treasure for her to share with the other residents, but also to go back into whenever she feels the need!
Happy Birthday Dorothea!
