Default Little lunch bag style glassine bags?

I'm wondering if anyone has found a supplier for these little bags, like the one's from SU Ghoulish Kit. I've found plently of "gusset" one's but I can't find any like the lunch bag style  Why doesn't SU offer these without the kit? errrr.... BTW, the ones from ULINE and PaperMart are NOT flat bottom lunch bag style

From the SU demo site:
Square Glassine Bags

I have seen many shares for this on the demo site, because it's in packs of 1k. They're a tad taller, but I think the bottom and sides are the same.

I too am searching for these (or relatively close) bags, and thought I was the only one! I imagined they'd be easy peasy to find, but nope! SayStamps is right, lots of flat or gusseted ones, but no "lunch style" ones unless you buy 1000 of them! I don't need anywhere near 1000 of them tho - LOL!
Anyone one else find a source with smaller batches available??

Kristen =)

The PaperMart link that msong posted is the only source that I've been able to find, as well...

Has anyone checked out clearbags? They have warehouses in both the U.S. and Canada.

In fact in Canada ,they have two and will ship from the one closest to you.

In the Sept/Oct 2012 Paper Crafts issue, there is a lunch bag style bag on p. 55. Under the list of sources it says "translucent bag" from Essential Packaging. I can't tell if it's glassine or not.

I have the current catalog from clear bags and they do have the type of bag you're looking for. They call them Busset Bags.

Default Little lunch bag style of glassine bags

Well I shall have to take a look again at clear bags. But I can tell you ,I have ordered twice from them and got cellophane bags. Not all their bags are plastic.

Their bags are also not all in one section. In fact the first time I looked for some clear cellophane 1x8 bags I could not find them either. I called the company and they helped me find them.

I believe in their on line catty they say that they carriy more items, and to call if you cant find what you are looking for. Just a suggestion, you might send them an email on the off chance....just a thought.

Look on ebay.com there are a bunch of them available and they are glassine and not plastic or clear cellophane.

I have contacted SU DS and told them that many are wanting the bags sold individually, they gave the standard, we don't offer them at this time. But maybe if enough demos ask for them, they will show up!!! Here's hoping!!!

I've tried finding similar bags as well. I did find and order glassine envelopes on clearbags, but not bags. I did find these and I wonder if they could just be trimmed down some? But, they are expensive because of the tin tie, and then to cut it off?

ok, I found a few more. these ones (probably bigger than what you are looking for) and these ones. I googled Clear Frosted Hi-Density SOS Bags. I wonder if we could find the smaller ones in bulk.

I like those tin tie bags a lot! Those might be even better for classroom treats for my Kindergarten class... Less chance of goodies being knocked over by hyper little hands - LOL! Thanks Michelle for the link.
I never imagined these bags would be so hard to find! They seemed so... average, ya know? I didn't think they seemed that "special" when I saw them in the kit. You ladies all rock!

I too have searched for these bags with no luck. I am wondering if anyone has figured out an easy way of converting a gusseted non-flat bottom bag into a flat bottom bag, like the SU ones.

Cut the bottom off a gusseted bag, fold up and glue/tape. Here is a link to see visual. Simple Gift Bags w/ Martha Stewart Paints {CCC}

Thanks for the link! that is a cute project. unfortunately, it turns a flat bottomed bag into a flat no-bottom bag. I'm looking for the opposite.

I have messed with these darn bags to get a flat bottom. It's very time consuming and the gusset widths are slightly different on each side...just enough to mess things up :(

Hey all! After complaining about not being able to find these bags to my stamp club girls, one of them found these:

Small Frosted SOS Bags

What do you think? You still have to buy a case, but it's only 250 instead of 1,000 of them and it's only $10.00 for the 3x7x2 bags. That's a lot if classroom parties!!

I'm so glad you posted! I found these when I was searching, but they only had the red and blue in stock. I emailed the company and was told that the clear was discontinued. I would've never checked back to see if they had restocked.

I got my little bags from Papermart today. They are not glassine, they are a frosted plastic. They are not quite as opaque as glassine would be. They are the lunch-bag type though.

I love the idea of these bags and they are a great price. Unfortunately the least expensive shipping option to Canada was $24.65. :-(

They must ship FAST! :p Are you happy with them? How stiff is the plastic? I was going to make treat bags for a kindergarten and 3rd grade classes... think they'd work for that? I figure if not, I'll stamp 'em with Stazon and sell 'em on eBay...LOL!

I would love to get 2 cases (500) of the clear bags but the shipping is crazy to Canada. Is there someone that will be placing an order anyways that would be willing to add mine and ship them to me? If so, please send me a pm. Thank you. :-)

They are fairly sturdy, it didn't collapse or bulge when I filled it. I'm posting some pics as a comparison of the bags to glassine envelopes. The bag stands up by itself, the calendar is holding up the glassine envelope.

Default Little lunch bag style glassine bags

Well I have not checked out Micheals since arriving in Arizona, but I can tell you they have these in Mikes in Canada. I was very surprised to see them so naturally picked some up. They are in the baking department with boxes .you might want to check there.

And of course the Ghoulish Googlies kit is on clearance for $3.99 (CAD)- still a little pricey for 10 bags but if that's all you need, better than buying a hundred others that aren't quite what you're looking for...

I have also experimented making my own using various paper, vellum, freezer and parchment. The latter work well with score tape, but vellum will require the type of tape/ glue they use for pergamano (sp?) sorry can't recall name of it.

Both freezer and parchment turned out fine but I do prefer the texture and feel of glassine. I do recall reading somewhere here in the past that baking supply stores carry them or ask your friendly neighbourhood bakery if you can purchase some from them.

Thank you for the information, very helpful. I wonder if anyone has a template on their blog for download, with so many talented crafters on here surly someone has one.
Thank you for your time and your help.

I used the tut that Becca Freeken (amazing paper grace) has on her site for the non gusset type bags that I made .Excellent tut and they came out just like hers. I made them as mentioned in the above post.

As a snowbird currently in Arizona I think it might be wise to order while I am here due to shipping costs.
