I was assembling a card tonight, and got some of my ATG adhesive on the front of my card, where it didn't belong. Not a lot, but a thin line around a mat that remained sticky.
I've seen discussions about stuff like Undu and other products to remove adhesives. Alas, I have never found it in a store and didn't have any.
So, here is my lightbulb moment - I picked up my white silicone eraser and rubbed it on the sticky adhesive. My gosh, it removed it! It didn't mar my cardstock or leave any residue. Amazing.
You can find these white erasers at Walmart, office supply stores, etc. I have always used them to erase pencil marks on my cards. Now I know I can use them to erase adhesive, too.

I use it for that too, Bugga. Even though I have the 'pick-up' or "adhesive remover" (remember crepe rubber soles? it's a lot like that material) intended for that, my white eraser is almost always out so I often grab it first. Sometimes you can just rub the adhesive off with your finger, too, especially if it's fresh - the adhesive, not your finger, LOL!
So glad it worked! I also am a big fan of the adhesive remover from SU. I'll tell you, that thing is a miracle worker. It'll even take off glue residue, and it's only 3 bucks!
I love my white erasers! They are so nice because they don't seem to be hard on your cardstock or pretty designer papers. I also use an adhesive remover pad --as described in an above comment as "crepe rubber sole"--LOL! It is a lot like that! I use this when I have to use temporary dotto tape for stuff.
I usually just use my finger to roll it to the back and that works. I've also used my white eraser that I use to remove chalk from where it's not suppose to be too!

Interesting thing about the adhesive removers: I have one that's a few years old and one that's about 30 years old... the new one is really stiff and can mess up paper, but the old one is soft and perfect! I'll have to try getting one from a drafting supply place and see if they are any different brand new.
(I was a technical illustrator years ago and still have a lot of my tools from them - also little cans of "Pounce" which is a lot like the static cling 'pillows' we use with embossing.)
Do you know the brand name of the white eraser you are referring to that removes adhesive? I'd like to pick one up the next time I'm at Wal-Mart.
Not sure what brand the others are talking about, but mine (that I use for the same things) is a Berol Speederase QE103. That's what's written on the refillable "case" that is basically a tube with a pump end like, a ball point pen, that pushes out a bit more of the cylindrical eraser when needed. I got mine at an office supply store years ago with about 3 refill erasers. I still have one refill left besides the eraser in the case. HTH

I will have to look for that white silicone eraser too..and in Walmart this time..NOT in Walgreens! Walked into Walgreens last time looking all over the place for the recommended color pencils,finally asked an associate, told her about how they are SUPPOSED to be in Walmart and THEN was loudly informed that I was in Walgreens! Tee hee! I felt like I had been looking for my reading glasses and they had been in my other
hand or something as rediculous!! Now I know I am turing 50..and I know where the
Walmart is too...so I will get that eraser..or maybe send my husband in to the store
to avoid another canoodle.

Do you know the brand name of the white eraser you are referring to that removes adhesive? I'd like to pick one up the next time I'm at Wal-Mart.
My white easer is called a Pentel Clic Eraser ZE-21 and is like a pen/mechanical pencil with the clip that slides the easer up or down into its "tube". You can buy the refills. LOVE these easers and have them all over the house and at work and in my craft tote because they don't leave marks when you easer pencil. I'll have to try it on adhesive.
Mine is by Staedtler. It says it is made of Mars Plastic. I don't know whether that means they brought back the plastic from Mars or what, but the thing will remove anything.
But I have to say, that adhesive eraser thingey is great. And, as I learned from my friends here on SC, if there's still a bit of tackiness, I just rub my embossing buddy over the spot and it's fine.

And all these years, I thought "Pounce" was kitty treats. My cats are going to be so disappointed! :p

Oh, how sweet! I bet you keep that eraser forever! Off topic a bit but I have an awesome jean jacket my daughter had in 7th/8th grade (I think Calvin Klein) and it's like her arms are around me when I wear it and I wear it all the time. She's also married now, too.
