AUGUST 2012-Task 4-DIGISCRAP PROGRESSIVE CHALLENGE (DGSCPR003Task4)
Dont know what a Progressive Challenge is? Go here to learn.
PLEASE NOTE! Although this is in the digiscrap threads, anyone is welcome to play--whether they're a digi, paper or hybrid scrapper. Just as the digiscrappers, when doing a traditional challenge, sometimes have to change up the instructions a little to fit their digi needs, the traditional scrappers might have to improvise on some of the digi techniques. It should make things interesting!
PROGRESSIVE CHALLENGE #3 TASK 4 (AUGUST 2012)
Heres the final task for this months challenge:
- Add a variety of buttons to your page.
- Add 5-6 elements (embellishments).
- Add a stamp.
Thats it! Your page is complete!
NOW UPLOAD:
- Save your page in its original version to maintain your layers.
- Save your page for the web as a .jpg (600x600 or less) & upload to the Challenge 3-Task 4 Gallery by adding the keyword DGSCPR003Task4 when you upload. Please also post this weeks work in this thread.
Reminder: When uploading your page to your gallery, on the Gallery Image Upload Page, choose the category Scrapbooking/ Digital Scrapping rather than Scrapbooking/Progressive Pages, since that Progressive Pages refers to a method of scrapping different from our progressive challenge.
how is everyone keeping track of the elelemts...I remember the papers but not everything else...well except for my puppy!
The My Digital Studio program from Stampin' Up! has a button to click called "supply list" that tells you everything you used on your page incase you need to recreate it or want to make a matching page or whatever. perhaps there is something like this on other software programs too.

I only wish... does MDS keep track of non-MDS elements too or just ones in their collections?
Sorry I have to giggle! I have such poor memory I have lists on top of lists and post it notes everywhere!! The bathroom mirror...the kitchen cabinets the inside if the front door!!! I would be happy to have one on my forehead!!! Oh I make myself laugh!!!!

i dont know about that because i dont have any non su elements but, i would think so because it tells me what photos i used and where i got them (what folder they were in) so if you added non su to a folder, it would probably tell you that too. it gives a list of each type of thing, all papers, all embellishments, all stamps, etc.

Yes it keeps track of everything. It essentially tells you the name of the file that you're using. I have a signature 'stamp' that I made in Photoshop Elements. I added it to a page, and then the supply list included it as a stamp with the name I had given it.
So as long as your non-SU! has a file name/directory name that reflects its origin, you're good to go.
On my Laura page, it listed each of the alphabet stamps separately ... with its colour (name and code).
It's done!
It's still August and I am finished the August Challenge! So I'm going to go out shopping to celebrate!
I don't "do" challenges ... so this is a VERY BIG DEAL for me.
Can I just say that I've fallen in love with the recolouring available in MDS2? DSP, embellishments, stamps ... it made this page so much easier. I didn't need buttons in the right colour ... I could change the colour to what I wanted! (this also means I don't need to buy downloads in all the colours ... I can change it myself)
I'm still not sure about the cloud ... but Laura really liked it ... and it covered up the lanterns that were in the background of the photo. And if I'd made it darker, the inside might have been too dark.
Oh well ... got to say "done" at some point!!
I dont use lots of embellishments so it was an interesting challenge to add what for me felt like lots. I ended up with some little chipboard pieces that I covered in matching paper and sanded the edges, they all had holes in the middle so I threaded vanilla ribbon through them and tied a knot. So pleased with the final finish!!
