Dody....when we moved into the house....Jack built me a shelf unit for my sewing room. He used a really nice board for the top...and it goes across to a set of shelves for the other side. He varnished the wood so that it didn't catch on my fabric. Works great! He did the same thing for the work tables in the work room for rockets...except he didn't even finish the wood on top. That way if he cut it...or got markers on it ...no big deal. I think we got those shelf units from the container store. They are black metal with white shelves. The shelf unit in the sewing room is 3 sets of shelves....pressed board type. He put them together and painted them white. So, it works for what I need. Later in the sewing room we bought some black metal shelf units from The Home Depot or Lowes. Don't remember which. That holds a lot of my material etc.
