Yes...that is what I thought too... we were suppose to buy the Ticonderoga presharpened pencils too...NOT! They don't even have the kids sharpen them once they are in the class...a parent volunteer stands in the work room to sharpen pencils...no kidding! I bought the non-sharp ones and they are lucky to get those.
Glad I'm not the only one that thinks the lists are kind of nuts...

My beef with this years list is that they are asking for specific brands of certain items...pencils...Dixon Ticondaroga No 2, no Eagle Stanfords...really? Name brand pencils? It's called Staples brand 12 pk for a penny. I am not spending $3 for Dixon Ticondaroga pencils. Crayola crayons 24 count...not Rose Art. Really? I am a Crayola snob too, but really? Shoot, they even specify round tip scissors, no pointy tips...for 4th grade...seriously? Are we worried my kids are going to stab their classmates? The list goes on and on...
