Unlike a wire cutter, a side cutter lets you get right under the head of the screw so it's flatter. I pick screws that have a flat head (not one that tapers to the shank of the screw).
And blue painters tape for masking - just stamp on the back and cut around it - it peels off paper soooo easily.
As my best friend says, "Stamping....it's cheaper than therapy" to which I add, "Not by much".
