I like to keep them in the 12 x 12 plastic keepers. I use my label maker and put the name of the pad at the top and store them upright in a plastic crate. You can use the 8 1/2 x 11 ones for the smaller pads.
i'm curious as well. I like to keep scraps with the paper pads they go to so ive just been tucking them back inside the paper pad. If the scraps are too small they either get trashed or tucked into my scrap box. At the moment my 6x6 and 8x8 pads are standing up in a small plastic storage bin which keeps getting full. Ive moved some 8x8 DCWV pads that I wasn't using often to another shelf that's actually outside of my studio.
Most of them are lined up like books on a shelf for now. I label the spines and keep the holiday specific ones separate in a sterlite drawer. I also use trimmed sandwich bags to keep some together that have loose sheets and a lot of scraps.
I have to buy 90% of them online so I don't have very many. Next year I'm getting a basket for them so I can flip through them easier and stick the whole thing out of the way.
Sept update: I thought I'd have to buy a cheap basket at Michaels, etc. but today, in a fit of organizing, I reporposed an old Longaberger basket that's the perfect size. It's 81/2 wide by 13 long with room to add more. I also used plastic sandwich bags that I trimmed the tops off to fit each pad in to contain scraps, etc.

Sterlite makes a 3 drawer plastic unit. The drawers are roughly 7 1/4 x 8 1/2. I completely forgot I use those for my 6x6 pads. I haven't opened any up yet but I would store the scraps in sandwich bags and just label them and put the bag in the drawer. My previous post I was referring to my 12x12 and 8x8.

(The new craft room is not quite ready for pictures yet, but getting close.)
I found this idea on another message board somewhere so it's not my original idea.
In order to keep the scraps with the pad, I attached a plastic sandwich bag to the back cover of the pad with my ATG adhesive. Just simply place the scraps there when you are done. This has worked well for me so far.
I keep my pads stacked inside a cubby in my craft room.
I went to Walmart yesterday and found these clear plastic bins that fit pretty well. I can flip thru the pads easily to see them. They were only $2.00. I'll have to buy more, if my 6x6 collection grows! lol!

Are these the ones by sterilite where the colored bit snaps up to keep the lid closed? Obviously the paper is too tall for the lid in this case if not can you post a description of the manufacturer/size dimensions? I have been looking for something like this and having a hard time finding the right size. Thanks!

Yes, they are! They got blue snap lids. Yeah, the paper is too big to have the lids on, but i'm fine with that. I thought these fit perfect for the 6x6 papers, the measurements are 11 1/2" long on the inside, 5" deep and 7" across the top on the inside. It would be slightly larger if i measured from the outside of this box.
I use the clear box from "Really useful boxes." It is the 8l size and works great! It has a lid as well that will even fit when the 6X6 paper packs are in! I have had mine like this for quite some time and it works great! This brand of box sells at Office Depot (they have all sizes) and Office Max also sells them but sometimes they don't have/carry all the sizes.(At least the store near me!)
Awesome thank you! I bought some really useful boxes but I measured the outside of the box (duh) so the paper wouldn't fit! And because I got them in clearance I couldn't return them. I have other stuff in there instead but I would check out this other size. Thank you both!

I store the pads by manufacturer in small plastic containers that I purchased in the office supply section at Walmart. There's a photo on my blog.
I store my 6x6 pads in plastic shoe boxes that I got from the Container Store. The pads are taller than the box, so no lid, but I would not want one anyway. These little boxes are so useful around the house that I buy them by the dozen.
I don't have alot of 6 x 6" pads, so storing and remembering them isn't a problem for me. I have mine in a set of plastic drawers I'd describe as being "A4 sized", and they fit side by side flat in the drawers. I keep offcuts/diecuts inside the front cover.

What a great idea, and I dont even have to leave the house, I have something that will just the trick, tfs!
We had this discussion before so I am repeating myself. My costco has their bottles of epsom salts in these great white boxes and they don't keep them. I go past them and pick up a couple at a time. They will actually hold 8 x 8. Check out your local costco and see if they have the bottles sitting in the boxes. I am sure you can take a couple of them.

With the exception of my Memory Box 6x6 pads, I store my scraps in the same way. I saw it on a blog a long while back. Memory Box DP comes in a cello wrapper so its a non issue.
All 6x6 pads (with attached envelopes) are kept in elfa drawers, they fit perfectly.

Oh my goodness! That is paper heaven! I love paper and thought I had a ton of it but not even close to what you have! WOW! Lol
I use one of the scrap storage units you can buy at michael's -- the one that has 4 drawers to make up the storage cube. I use a marker to write the name of the pad on the glued spine, and store them by manufacturer. As an example, here is a snapshot of my BasicGrey drawer...
I use a small crate. The 6x6 fit perfectly into those. I like the idea of the envelope to hold the pieces. I've just been sticking them inside the paper pads. I store them upside down so it doesn't fall out.

Where did you get those opaque boxes at the bottom of your picture? It looks like you can see through them enough to know what's inside while being opaque enough to be esthetically pleasing!
I store my 6 x 6 pads, my half strips of DSP and my scraps in 3 of the translucent bins that Target sells for organization. I have two rows of the 6 x 6 pads in one and I even stick in some mat packs once in a while...also just looked and I have a 12 x 6 pad of cardstock from HL that is at the back of this bin.....
When I buy packs of DSP (usually SU) I take one of each sheet and cut it into 12 x 6 size strips...I file them under the name in another of the bins described above. Super easy when you just need some strips or only a quarter of a sheet. Once only a quarter is left it goes into my third bin which is organized by ROY G BIV using main color. (This bin has dividers labeled with color name/initial. and there are dividers for Christmas, Halloween, Fall, and Valentines).
All scraps, whether CS or DSP go into a third of those bins organized by ROY G BIV with white and cream at the front and brown, gray and black at the back. This bin sits on my craft desk at the left of my work space...that way I reach for it easily/always. If the piece is taller than 6 inches, it doesn't go into the scrap bin....and I run the scraps lengthwise....no dividers....just the color groups. I find it helps me use the scraps up and if I want to experiment with shape or color I go to this bin first.
I use the shorter in height bins of the same type to hold punches that don't fit my CD rack whale tail storage system or my lock down punch storage system.....
I also use them to collect materials I want to use for a particular card...so that when I have time to work, the idea(photo print out or mag. tear), the hard ware, and ribbon are all in the bin...all I do is cut CS/DSP and I can quickly create. If I have an embossing folder need I sometimes place it in the bin also...punches stay on the shelf. Heat embossing powders and tool are sometimes in the bin too.....I find that I finish projects better when doing it this way and if I hit a snag with one, I can put the bin aside and go to another....I usually have 3 bins with planned projects in them.

First thing I do is rip off the cover - with all the images of what is inside the 6X6 pad. Then I take the paper pad and store it in a freezer ziploc baggie (they are a little larger than a regular ziploc and heavy duty and just the right size for a 6X6 pad) that I write the name of the set on the front of the baggie along with the manufacturer, and store it alphabetically (by set name) in one of 3 baskets that I have. The cover is stored on a binder ring, so I can quickly flip through all the covers, find a paper I want to use, and then just find the paper pack in my baskets. It works for me anyway.
well, way back in the day when I only had one brand of the pads I tore them all up and put them in hanging file folders with scraps in a file cabinet by main color...
then I started buying other co.'s
then my memory failed me on who made what...
so I started leaving them on the pads...
and now there are 3 baskets full of them and a stack or two on flat spaces (critters breed in the dark I swear)
So, the next plan I have is to move them all to an vintage suitcase so they are contained in one thing.
I have several tall piles of 6 x 6 and 8 x 8. I use a black sharpir to write on spines like this:
BG/Euphoria. Each maker has its own pile. I like it this way.
