Default Magnetic sheets

Since SU is no longer offering the magnetic sheets, does anyone know where to buy these now?

Thanks,
Shirl

me too....it's cheap and it works. I got mine at Home Depot (about $5 for 3 large sheets - quite economical compared to the ones that are already cut to size you find at the craft stores) :

E/O Magnetic Vent Covers (3-Pack)-MC815/3 at The Home Depot

You may need to ask for help finding it because it's thin and not displayed visibly. Of course, once I figure out where they were in the store....they moved them the next time I went. LOL!!

Thanks, I would never have thought of that. And then how do you cut them or with what do you cut them?

I just use my paper cutter. It may take a couple runs, but it cuts smoothly.

I've gotten a large roll of it from Michael's with a coupon, then cut it down on my guillotine trimmer.

If you have a guillotine cutter, they cut like butter. Also, they are white on the "face" - intended to be painted or wallpapered - so I'm guessing you could do some fun things with stamps and/or paper, as well. Haven't tried it yet, but intend to soon (maybe even this weekend)...

Forgot to mention that you can also buy magnetic sheets at craft stores, but they are usually thinner and more expensive than the vent covers.

I found a few links, too:
Blank magnetic sheets
Staples inkjet magnetic sheets
Avery inkjet magnetic sheets

Another vote for vent covers! Easy to cut, great product. Don't be afraid to go into your hardware store and ask. Mine were 15inches long. I cut them in thirds.

I buy mine from the dollar store. They're meant to make your own photo magnets so they have adhesive on one side. Works well for me!

Hubby made magnet sheets for my dies out of the magnetic vent covers. Just cut them in strips and glued them on my good double sided cardstock.

Yeah, another vote for magnetic vent covers. I just cut them with normal scissors and also with my Fiskars paper cutter. The vent covers don't work on vents (not mine anyway), but they sure are nice for Nestabilities.

Stamping Scrapping has magnetic sheets of different sizes and die storage stuff. I was just over there on their website spending money and saw them.

Me too. I have used vent covers, but find them a little thicker than I like for some things. I've also gotten sheets at Js.

Magnetic vent covers from Home Depot here. I get 2.5 from each sheet and tape the 2 halves together. It's a deal!

I've purchased tons of vent covers from ACE hardware. They do not have the peal on the back but have to use a spray adhesive if you want to glue them in dvd cases. I got the cases from tapeonline for .88 ea...king size. They work beautifully. Some people put the magnet sheets on only one side so you can see through to what you have but I have so many dies I didn't want to spend a fortune so I put magnetic sheets on both sides and put the dies in. Plenty of room and I labeled the side so it I now can find everything. Voila!

I've been using these from Oriental Trading: Adhesive Magnetic Sheets. I used to use the vent covers, but I found I could get more for the money here.

I used the rolls from Michael's until I discovered the vent covers. They are a bit thicker which doesn't make a difference since I store mine in clear plastic photo pages, but they also have more magnetism and hold the Nesties in place better. Both cut with scissors or a guillotine cutter.

That is where I get mine. Work great. Cut like butter on my Tonic and can also punch clean. Haven't been brave enough to try Framelits or Nestabilities.

How about FREE ones? >> old calendars magnets, team-schedules, restaurants, magnetic business cards, etc? (I just soak the paper layer off in warm water with a little dish soap (like Dawn).)
I hear there were given large ones away at local State Fair (WI).

I use the Avery Ink Jet Magnet Sheets. Five 8.5x11 sheets for about $13.00. Icut each into four, and attach to the back half of Nesties insert with double stick tape. I cut the picture w set name from the front of the insert and put it on the outside of an 8.5x5.5 envelope. Two sets of Nesties per envelope, stored in a photo box (without the lid). I have 55 sets in one box with room for more. You can find the envelopes cheap at Pac-N-Mail in my area, and I buy the cheapest double stick tape I can find- Walgreen Walmart Dollar Store.
I keep like shapes together and can find what I'm looking for in a flash!

Awesome thing about the vent covers besides the price, is if you have the cricut deep cut blade it will cut them too. I made Mickey Glove shaped magnets as favors for my daughters 2nd birthday party that said look what ___ did with each kids name on, it out of vinyl. I have also made dirty/clean signs for my dish washer, I covered the pattern paper with clear contact paper from the dollar store before I cut out my design not only is it super cute, matches my kitchen but it is also water resistant because of the contact paper! Oh yeah I have also made "paper" dolls from the vent covers too, again using my cricut!

Col ideas, Scrapiegirl75. Wish my dishwasher would attract magnets---have tried it before with pictures and magnets, but no go. Don't have a Cricut, but sure do like the paper doll idea for my granddaughter.

If you wanted to flip through a binder instead of a box, you can get 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" page protectors and binders at Staples. Just a thought...

If you want thinner, I like the three pack at Walmart in the craft section. The best thing is they have a peel off backiing and have adhesive so You don't have to figure out how to get them to stick. And they cut very easily. I also use the vent covers, but went back to Walmarts brand since they were more convenient.
