Default Anyone know how to ...

... attach a link to a word when uploading a card? What I mean is, when I link to my gallery when uploading a card, I end up with that loooooong URL. I've seen where others link to words without the URL itself being visible--like I have in my signature line. I can obviously figure out how to do it here in a thread but just cannot figure out how they're doing it on uploads. Thanks.

I do it by typing the code myself. You need to put link word[ /url] (with no spaces, I had to put the space in so the forum will show the code rather than trying to make it a link).

HTH!

You. Are. Brilliant. Your excellent instructions worked like a charm. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to my question, Joanne!!

I do as Joanne does and haven't been using color but if you want it this is how it's done and this is a cut and paste from an old thread I posted years ago in the card sketches forum.

DO NOT MAKE SPACES IN THE ADDRESS (I had to leave a couple so it would not go into link mode)

[ URL=paste link here]link title

It's easier for me to copy the link, then select (highlight) the word you want it to be attached to and click on the blue globe in the edit box. Paste the link and click ok....

That works great here on forum threads but there's no "edit" box in the gallery with those handy little buttons (unless I've blinked and missed it all these years!) so if you want to do it in the write up for a picture upload in the gallery you need a different method.

Thanks Joanne, I missed that part of her question....I wondered why there weren't a trillion others trying to give instructions my way too! I need to quit reading so fast!
