Our county fair is much like any other fair. We have rides, food, games, livestock shows and concerts. We have a gospel night and a karaoke contest. Then on Friday and Saturday night the bigger name entertainers make their apprearance followed by a fireworks show. Sounds like fun right?
Well, the biggest attraction, bigger than the rides or games or shows is the MUD BOG!!!! Every redneck within driving distance brings their souped-up, jacked-up, shined-up road wagon to run through the homemade mud puddle that stretches the length of a football field. Most of the time the trucks are old and really loud, but every year there's at least one genius who brings their brand new $40,000 four wheel drive and heads right in. (Probably a kid who snagged Daddy's keys without him knowing.) The higher the mud slings the louder the crowd cheers and if you break down or catch on fire they really love you, but the ones who get the most noise are the girls who show the guys how it's done.
So if you're a redneck and you have a truck you think would go through our mud hole, head on over to Braxton County, WV the first Saturday in August. We'd be glad to see you get towed out!;)
My challlenge, in honor of the mud slinging girls, is to make a manly page about a girl or if you only have boys, like me, then make a girlie page about a boy. I hope you have fun with it!

HI! Okay, this sounds fun! A manly page about a girl. I can do that or visa versa (girly page about a guy) Off to go look at what I have. I went to Walgreens and got some photos printed to have. My last trip to see grandkids. I just thought of the perfect photos, of my tomgirl granddaughter!

We've been w/o Power for the last couple of hours so it's been interesting as it got darker here ...!
Back on now and I'm going to have to think about this one, at least hunt for some picts ...
When we moved to OH we moved to a more rural area. I did chuckle the first year when the biggest event at the Fair here in our county was the Tractor Pull. I had google what it was --- LOL!

Lela, we were without power 12 days during this last storm. It stinks being in the dark. :( There are usually more people at the mud bog than at the concert. This year we have Jason Michael Carroll.

Well, I thought I had got the right prints, but didn't. I went thru all my photos and didn't have the ones I wanted. I will print them off here, but, now it is late. I will do this tomorrow!

Lura, I finally was able to come up with an idea with these photos! Here is King of the Hill. I picked the paper to look masculine. I have very little masculine looking pager.
Then I thought the photos would need to be in circles, but my circles were too small for the photos. So then, I thought of cutting the rings.
Once I thought of how I would do this , it took no time!

Boy...I'm so sorry. I didn't realize until today that there was another challenge this past weekend. I thought the main event with this coming weekend...that's what having surgery does to you...messes with my head I'll have to think on this one. I don't think DGS will mind a girlie page and I think I've got some photos that would work really well...
Now...I know this doesn't qualify as an entry for the VSBN this time but I couldn't resist putting this layout in here since it fits this challenge perfectly.
I'll still go find those other pics I have in mind and see what I can come up with this week since the "Princess" and DGS are going to cub scout camp all week

Actually, it does qualify. You have 2 weeks to do the challenge since it's part of the Fair. ;)

I got my pictures out for this and then got a call from DH. DGS wrecked his BMX bike at cub scout camp and hurt his tummy pretty bad so DH brought him home to get him a good soak in the tub and to sleep in his own bed tonight in the A/C to keep an eye on him in case he had developed any internal injuries. Needless to say, I had to stop to finish getting his room ready since I had been cleaning and washing sheets! I sat back down at 11 to start this page and finished it in about 45 minutes. It probably could have been a bit more girly but I didn't have time to really go through my stash to check out what to use.
here's my page I had it finished before I hurt my arm so I only had to upload it, using my opposite arm. Whew a job. Arm is still sore but so much better hopefully no surgery.
Still have 4 days of non use but wow doc it's VSBN weekend.....:(
