Welcome To Teapot Tuesday
and the sisterhood of the traveling teaparty
challenge #208
Manly Manny needs a diversion; to flowers he has an aversion
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
The party starts here:
Hello all, hope you are enjoying the new Teaparty format. This week is "Mystery Week". I know some of you prolly think it's because it's a mystery what this gal will come up with next....teehee....and that's partly correct. There is no set plan for the extra week which occurs every 3 months so it will be a mystery to all....prolly even to me...teehee...Judy
StampingqueenJAR will co-host the mystery weeks with me...
1: This week's dilemma, (isn't there always a dilemma we have to solve?) is of a different sort but I feel certain we are up to the challenge. Manny McFoy needs our help in a most urgent way. He feels he is in danger of losing his manliness, his mojo, his oneness with the smelly, burly world of all things masculine. He is surrounded by all things frilly, flowery, pastel and pale and it's driving him close to the breaking point.
2: Going over that point would be a disasterous thing indeed, for Manny is a pottery prodigy, a teapot making whiz, a potters wheel spinning genious. He comes by this quite naturally being surrounded his whole life by his mother's collection of 42,000 McCoy vases, cookie jars, and teapots all in the color of white. Growing up little Manny just wanted some color, so when he made his first pottery he painted all the colorful flowers he could think of on them.
3: Now Manny is known the world round for his colorful, flowery, frilly teapots and teacups. You know the kind; the dainty, pinky up kind no real man would be caught using for fear of squishing them in his beefy paws. Manny is so well known that orders come in night and day from all over and he churns out 42,000 teapots a year to keep up with the demand. But all this flowery frilliness is driving him quite mad. He just wants to make a simple pot to make a spot of tea. Is that too much for a man to ask? He's afraid that if he doesn't get a break from these flowers he will go completely mad.
4: So what to do? We can't lose our resource of all flowery tea things. We surely can help him out. If 42,000 teapotters send in an order for simple, plain, and a somewhat manly teapot, he will have to suspend work on the flowery ones to complete the order. Then his mojo would surely be restored and happiness will return to McFoy Pottery Works. Yeah! I know we can do it! So get your orders in girls, Manny is counting on us!!
5: This is a color challenge. Make a masculine card using the colors in the attached teapots.
Challenge translation:
This is a color challenge of manly porportions...think BIG--big as all outdoors, think BOLD--bold as the big cats roaming the hills, think STRONG--strong as the circus strong man....if it's manly and masculine, bring it. If it's dainty and flowery....head to the back door.
EPEC: (extra points for extra cookies):
Extra cookie points for bringing real elements of nature to bring the outdoors in. And aren't these the funnest camoflage cookies!!
Destination Station:
This week our destination is Ontario, Canada. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Sol. Sol was brought to our attention by Charlene
Crystaldolphins . . Sol is the good friend of previous teaparty recipient Gypsy. Click here for that teaparty
MMTPT198 Sol has minimal family who never get to visit and he is in need of some happy mail.
To find out more as well as get the address to mail your card, please visit
Post #306 in the Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is totally 100% voluntary!
