Hello everyone....are you ready to get inky or should I say wet!!! Since it's summer and I'm sure all of you have been or want to go to the beach...let's do a little stay-cation and make our own beach!!!
There are lots of techniques to make water and sand:
1. Tear the paper for the water, curl or rough the edges, and sponge on ink that is a shade darker. You can do the same thing for the sand.
2. Use a wave die
3. Use sand paper for the sand
4. Sponge on the water and sand by masking the layers for a wave effect.
5. Use kraft paper for the sand and actually glue sand to the paper.
6. If all else fails, use stamps....LOL!!!
Joan, here's mine using my new Stampin' Up Core'dinations paper and sanding it.

It's been awhile since I posted here at splitcoast, but I needed an uplifting challenge today and this was perfect, so I felt like I needed to share...
What a super challenge! I ripped some paper, and a blue napkin- and used some canvas fabric and a DC scallop for my clouds. I reused the canvas- paired with a 2 layered flower- here's Sweet Day on the Beach

I didn't do anything fancy to make the beach, just a bit of sponging in sand color - I let the stamp carry the day.
Fun challenge, thanks for the beach theme. I live in the desert part of Oregon, so any chance I have to imagine myself on the beach is a vacation from reality!
This Let's Make a Beach theme is addictive! Made another card using the scraps on my table and a tool that lingered unused in my drawer for 3 years - the We R memory keepers Sew Easy piercing wheel.
Gee, I hope there isn't a limit as to how many cards we can make for this challenge. I had some bits and pieces leftover on my stamp table and they demanded to be used!
