My Marvy Uchida has been heating for years. Many times, I feel it over heats, but I've learned to adjust my distance to compensate. I'm planning to purchase the Heat-It this year. I've used it at stamp shows/conventions, and I really appreciate that it does not blow embossing powder all over, and I have never experienced over-heating. Additionally, I like the quieter sound.
