Default Google Chrome and Blogger

Am I the only one annoyed that you now HAVE to use Chrome for Blogger to work properly? Way to go Google! You can view the blogs just fine with other browsers, but for the actual blogging you need to use Chrome. I know it is free and all, but I don't like Google forcing my hand on what browser to use.

Well, if Firefox hadn't gotten so buggy and crashy that I can't use it for anything over the last six months it might bother me, but since Chrome is by far my most stable browser I guess it doesn't affect me. But I hear ya. Choice is nice.

I would FAR rather use something that is more dependable, such as Chrome, then to simply have it be "my" choice.

When did that happen? I have a Blogger blog and I use IE9.

Me too ( I use IE) & I don't have a problem. I'd like to know also when this happened. I use the old format for my blog.

It was recent. Last week or so? I got a bar up at the top when I went to Blogger that said something along the lines of...your browser is no longer supported by Blogger so some aspects may no longer work properly.

They were not kidding. I could see blogs just fine, but when it came to actually creating a blog post, nothing was displaying properly in IE9.

Maybe this is something new and they haven't completely rolled out the changes yet? That is the only reason I can think of why some would be seeing the change and not all.

Chrome might be stable but it is also a very nosey browser. I only know this because my hubby is a techie and is adamant about not using Chrome. Google apparently uses it to do a lot of information collecting.

That's actually IE, not blogger - it doesn't work on a lot of sites. You can still use FF with Blogger if you can keep it from crashing - it's not incompatible.

I use the AVG plug in for Chrome with the "do not track" extension so I don't have to worry about them spying on me
