SCRAPBOOKING/QUILTING WEEKEND RETREAT
SEPTEMBER 7-8-9, 2012
GO TO POST #58 TO SEE THE START OF THE DIVA THREAD
So KP in June has come and gone and since we all had too much fun we feel the need to do it all over again! Deb has kindly offered her house in LaCombe for our fall event. So pop on over to post #58 and you can see where the fun begins!
We are stealing back our KP thread to see just how long we can make a Splitcoast Stampers Alberta Get ToGether Thread and further more Robin just wants it that way!
So...bring your pens, bring your paper, bring your jammies, bring your pictures and your memories, as it’s time to get those creative juices flowing and get some scrapbooking, quilting, or both, done!
The weekend is in LaCombe and details to be supplied at a later date.
Shoeboxes can be arranged if the creative whim desires! Shoeboxers let me/Deb know who you are and what categories you would like.
Some accomodation "may" be available at Deb's that to be confirmed closer to the date. Please let Deb know if you are interested in coming by Aug 15th so arrangements can be made.
The following have responded "YES" to a wonderful Diva weekend!
1. Gayle
2. Robin
3. Diane
4. Deb

Yessirree!!! We are almost there! Cindy and Lisa and Christine so glad you are coming...this is going to be great!
I dont think you have to give me any money right now, its only a deposit and I can cover that.
I will check and see when they want to be paid and let you know.
So, any shoeboxers out there?
Are some going to quilt while some scrapbook?
There's a hot tub up there too if any are interested...
Sooooo...as I do my planning (love to plan and make lists...really I do!) as I look at the grub list, are there any allergies out there? I will come up with some ideas and run them by you all.
Happy Friday! The weather looks to be great so it's almost yard time, and we have to clean up after 2 dogs all winter, fun fun! Oops guess I shouldnt be talking food and poop all in the same post! Yum....
I have to apologize up front, the rate is not $274.00 per night it is $347.00. We were quoted for a different cabin. So the price has gone up a tad. Please let me know if this is going to cause a problem for anyone.
Also it would appear that Kramer's Pond wants payment up front before we go. Not unusual, but I will need payment now as I have to send off a
cheque for $730.30 and a damage deposit for $150 when we get there.
So if we base our plans on 10 people coming that works out to $73.30 each for lodging for two nights. I would ask that if we dont get two more people that we all share that additional cost. That would make it $91.28 each. But let's work on the positive that we will get 10 ladies. So if you have a friend that would enjoy the weekend, please ask them to join us!
So, if you could either send off a cheque for $73.30 each or pay me through internet banking that would be great.
My address is
38 Citadel Crest Green NW
Calgary, AB

Thanks!
Gayle
P.S. Deb, Cindy and Lisa can you three email me with your emails as I have lost them when I got my new computer last fall! Thanks so much!
I mailed my cheque yesterday Gayle so it should arrive soon. I think I am going to sew this year -- so I don't think I'll do a shoebox. Even though I know I'll want to when I'm there. But too much stuff to bring, so I need to just sew.

Sewing is good Deb! Whenever I see someone else with their material it makes me want to rush out and just SEW! I love the feeling of the fresh new fabric - I sewed alot when my boys were young and all my maternity clothes. I switched to drapes and all the bedroom sets for our house. I have to do a new set for our room but somehow the inspiration has not arrived yet!!! Maybe seeing all of you sew that weekend will help!
Hi all ~
We have two spots left, Adelee cant make it. So it would be good to have one more person at least...
So anybody know what they are going to work on yet?
I hate to bring up the "C" word so early in the year, but yes Christmas cards are going to be my project!!!

Linda can't make it either Gayle. They have another commitment that weekend.

Thank you Robin and Deb for your cheques! Robin that was the prettiest card that you sent!
One more super lady joining us, Rose, from Calgary. She is a long time stamper who is very talented. She is a beautiful stitcher and won many awards.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

Looking forward to this weekend. I will have to leave Sunday morning tho. I have a wedding shower to attend that will start at 11 am. But hopefully I can get some stuff done on Saturday (even if it's a long visit). It will be nice to see everyone again.

Thanks for the cheque Cindy! I spoke with Gary up at Kramer's Pond and he is arranging that we all have enough tables, 2 to a table. Remember to bring along an extra light and extension cord ~ even tho the tables all butt up to the windows and the natural light will pour in, for evening work you may want more light. I wonder if Costco is still selling those great travel Ott lights for $25. They are perfect and give such a nice light. I have tablecloths for each of the tables.
Dinner choices for Saturday night ~
1. Homemade BBQ hamburgers and salad, or,
2. Chicken Fettucine Alfredo with salad, or,
3. Pulled Pork in a Stampede sauce on buns with salad
So get your votes in! 'Cause if you don't it will be wieners and beans!
Also pick your room mate so you can each fight over which bed. If we don't get that 10th person which looks unlikely at this point, Robin has kindly asked for the single room that she gets because she snores the "loudest"!
Anyone figured out yet how long the drive is from Calgary or Innisfail?
Yah it's TGIF tomorrow! Working full time now I sure do appreciate the weekends! Would like to get into the garden but I am not that determined to garden so as to drown in the rain!
oh oh, if we are 2/table, then maybe I'll have to work on something else. Can't sew with 2/table. Would the room be big enough for a single at a table, if need be? Food - I'm not fussy. I won't be there for any meals on Sunday.

I don't know where this place is Gayle. Do you have a map?

went to the website and it says it is 3 hours from Calgary. You can take either #2 or #22 North, then west on #13.

Deb I am sure we can work something out, and they would most likely have another table or I can put my card table with the new white melamine top in the van for you, so please don't change your mind about what you wanted to do!
Diane I love ol' weinies and beans too, but on toast! Reminds me of my dad...also cottage cheese and tinned fruit cocktail was another unique go to with him! Love 'em both and Pa too!
Regarding roomies...my dh said to me this morning, as he crawled out of the "snoring room" zowee you might best pack an air mattress and sleep in the van at Buck Lake, because you are snoring so loud and so much that you could wake the dead! He generally wears ear plugs and he said they aren't even working!!!
This last couple months my snoring has been really bad, bad for him, great for me, as I am sleeping like a log!
Sooo.. you have all been fair warned! I suggest no one pick me as their roomie and maybe I should sleep on the couch!
