High Park fire was reported this morning at 6, when firefighters got there, it was 40-50 acres, went to 200 acres in 30 minutes, and now, we have black and red smoke blowing across us again. This is the 4th fire west of Fort Collins in less than 4 weeks. The big Hewlett fire is still burning in isolated places inside the fire line, and the other two were smaller and easily contained, but still not out. This one is being fed by hot dry winds. They've evacuated people from the area already.
We really, really need some rain!
I wish I could send you some of ours! We've had 3.5 inches in the past 10 days. Everyone--and I mean EVERYONE--in our neighborhood was mowing grass today, because it's the first time all week it's been dry enough. And with all of our rain recently, the grass has been growing like crazy. I think everyone needed their hay baler to get through it all!
Your fire situation sounds pretty dire. Stay safe!!
