What? They have these at AC Moore??? Since when? I already have all of the 6packs, but all other colors come in 24 packs. Do they have these at AC Moore too?

I guess it's time to check the website now... thanks for the info!

That's good to know, I'll keep an eye out at the store. I don't see them online but they're probably coming.

PS.... clpangels, I guess I should have answered your question. I have some 6 packs and the "Brights" 24 pack and I do love them, just not the fact that you can't order them individually. If you look up reviews online, it seems that Prismacolor marker users love them, Copics users not so much. I guess it's a matter of preference but I have never used Copics so I can't compare. I do love that SN markers are a lot less overwhelming due to having fewer colors, so for me since I'm not coloring for any other reason than for fun and for myself and not blogging, I'll stick with the Spectrum Noirs.

Are they blending well? Also what brand of ink are you stamping images with?

I got them at AC Moore this week as well. I got all but three sets which had sold out.
I've played around and like the blending aspect. I haven't noticed a smell at all.
I am having a problem with bleeding of the stamped ink. Not to hijack this thread but I've used Momento Tuxedo Black and heat set. I am using cheap cardstock that is thin. Could the thin cardstock be the problem causing the bleed? I have never used alcohol markers before.

Strange, I used the same and had no issue.
The paper might be the problem. I don't remember what I used to be honest , because at one point I was buying a few types to test out .
If it's thin, you might want to try another heavier brand.

I absolutely love them! They work great on Neenah paper...no bleeding at all. Not so good on SU cardstock or GP. Much easier for me to color with than Copic as I have a tremor in my hand and the brush end of the Copic is hard for me to control.

Can anyone recommend a good online store to buy these from? I've refused to jump on the Copic bandwagon because of the price, these seem much more reasonable!

I bought my Neenah paper at Paper Temptress.com

Also bought some great paper at Gina K Designs...awesome! The finish on the paper is amazing and all the alcohol markers are so much better on this paper.
I only have 3 sets of the new markers and I have been able to mix them with my Copics. I absolutely love them!

Also, this week for a Mothers Day Special, the 24 packs are on sale for 29.97 at consumercrafts.com
Great price!
Also, I have found they bleed with all my ink except the Momento.
So sorry I didn't get all of this in one post and that I am late in answering your questions...I have had some family issues! :-(

So what do you think of color spectrum for these markers? Are there enough choices for light, medium and dark for good blending? I guess the biggest issue might be when coloring faces, people. I tried the Bic Mark it markers and did not like that there were not enough gradient colors or good flesh tones, but have to add that I probably won't color people stamps and images very often. I'm more of a landscape, floral person.

I have watched a video on utube about Spectrum Noir markers and found it very interesting. I ordered the CD tutorial from CraftersCompanion and it is very good.

I found a nice link for discounted spectrum noirs. Click Here!
I've purchased the basic 6 packs in all colors. After using them for a week, I have decided I want the pastels as well. I find the 6 packs are very saturated and feel for softer images, would benefit by getting the pastels.

Still not happy with papers but it maybe that I'm just too strong and need to lighten up. I am still getting some bleeding.

I did notice on the other paper you do have to color lightly because the markers are very juicy

Default Are Spectrum Noir refillable like Copic?

I don't see any mention of this. Big plus for Copic

I do understand the whole copics craze but not the cost! I've seen a lot of questions raised from people who want to know where to start on getting enough colors to make it coherent enough to use them for the effects they're intended for. But they are soooo expensive, cost per market wise and the fact that there are about 400 of them.

I like my SN markers, and since I already own the entire prismacolor set, I love that I was able to integrate both sets and get kind of a gradient. I don't feel like I'm missing anything even thought I only have about half of the SN's.

If anyone also has Prismacolor markers, let me know and I'll share my best guess on the color group they belong in.
