The main VSN event in June will be at the old format - the mods are trying something new for the mini. I'm sure they will appreciate the feedback about the new mini format.
Yep....just an idea based on a lot of comments thru the many VSNs....we aren't saying we're keeping it this way for the Mini...just trying something new and we'll see how the feedback/participation goes.
And the Main is the exact same format as always in June!!
Personally, I like the new format. My life, especially on weekends, is so busy! It's great to have a whole week to make a card (or more than one)! Something for everyone--this format for the mini, and the old format for the VSN main event in June! I like it!

I am enjoying this format. Especially, since I won't be here the last Friday of the mini, but will be back in time to get it a card on, since we have a whole week. But I also love the marathon one, but the last two times I haven't been able to finish the marathon! I don't have as much stamia as I did the first two years I played.
However you do it, don't stop, because it is so much fun!

Am I reading the VSN date correctly...is it on the 12th or is it just June 2012 challenge and I can't find the date? I'm excited if it's midweek, I might have a good chance of playing!

The June dates are Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16 (2012).

I too was looking for the June VSN date. I thought it would be published on the home page. Glad you gave it here. I will be away from home both those nights :( but hope to be able to watch online and perhaps participate by the deadline if not in real time. I LOVE VSN!!!
P.S. I'm sorry I missed the June mini (in May), (didn't find out about it until about the 3rd week in May) but may go back and do some of the challenges anyway. I also like the new format for the mini. I enjoy the marathon the way it is, but it does get a little intense for me.

Feeling very sorry for myself......I found out that we're having company this weekend. My husband's best friend (they've been friends since 2nd grade, which is a looooonnnggggg time since they both turned 66 this year...lol!) & his wife are coming to visit this weekend. I suppose I have to be a good wife/hostess, & help entertain them, feed them, etc., while they're here. It would be rude to excuse myself & disappear into my craft room for hours, right? :?
sigh...guess I'll have to wait for the next VSN...:(

Take his wife with you to the craft room...surely the "boys" would love to visit without the ladies around!?!

Thanks, Lee...I'll keep that in mind! I do have to go in to work on Monday...but might have time to play when I get home. I'm not sure when the company is leaving, Sunday night or else on Monday.

Hey, Jane! That's a great idea! She's always telling me how much she likes the cards I make...she makes beautiful quilts, but I think she might be willing to try making some cards! We'll see... and you're right--the "boys" usually start reliving old times, & forget that we're even in the room...

Am I missing something? I haven't found a write-up for VSNA--the 6 pm challenge for today. I know it's something about the band, Journey, but don't know what the challenge is. Any ideas?
Barbara, the challenge will be posted at 6 p.m. and we'll all find out what it is then. The theme of VSN this time is "Journeys," but that doesn't necessarily mean any of the challenges will be about the band (but I guess one of them could be). We'll all find out later
;) She does have a little "beforehand" knowledge.....she just posted into the wrong forum! But see? The hostesses all know what's going on early and get to make samples ahead of time......so you all have GOT to try out for hostessing the next time!!!
