Title: Childhood Games
Hostess: Michele (fmtinsley)
Keyword:LeapVSBN05
Day/Date: Sat. March 31, 2012
Time: 2:00pm\
As I was trying to think of a challenge for this VSBN, the childhood game, Leapfrog, kept coming to me. I remember playing this as a child and the more kids playing the better it was. It really brings back the memories of childhood. Other games I remember are Red Light Green Light, Simon Says, Hopscotch and Red Rover. So I decided to let my childhood memories inspire my challenge.
My challenge: *Use a favorite game from your childhood for your inspiration. *You must use a minimum of 3 photos because Leapfrog wasnt a single player game and it wasnt as much fun with just two people. *be sure to tell us what game inspired you
Here is the GALLERY for this challenge...leave a little luv for everyone! [

I was racking my brain for this one and the same game kept coming back to me... sitting having a discussion with my 4 yr old and boom! I got an idea... Now to find the pics and time to get it in today. I finished 2 more pages this morning ... trekking my way to GOAL!

This is a cute challenge. Those days of playing games outside with all the neighborhood kids is SUCH a long time ago! I remember riding bike around the block and my country block was probably a good 5-6 miles around with HUGE hills to go up and down! And we loved catching fireflies in the evenings. My DGS gets SO excited these days if we even get to see fireflies in the summertime! I'll have to review my Disney pics and see if any of them inspire a rememberance of a childhood game.

Time to switch movies and am still thinking on this one...hmmmmmmm. I spent my childhood in the city of Philadelphia and we had dozens upon dozens of kids to play with every summer. My favorite game use to be 'Spring' or 'Jail Break' and we ran those alleys and even into houses...crazy fun! I'm thinking of 'Spring' in honor of the game & VSBN :-) Not sure how I'm going to work it out though...
I'm thinking of using the game "Life" or "Clue". We used to play both of those often and I know what picts I want to use. Unfortunately I may not have had them printed yet but I can get the layout done :o

I want to do Candy Land and was going to use last years egg dying pics. My children have the grumpiest looks on their faces for some reason when I went to find the pics.... not sure what that was all about. Discovered I don't have pics printed and the printer is out of one ink, so I can't print here either... Considered doing digi since I have pse now.... that might not be a bad idea anyway!

I brought up a website when I googled "childhood games" and found bowling on it. I remember setting up soda/beer cans on our walkway as a kid and bowling so I'm gonna go with that since I've got lots of pics of DGS at his tournament last month.
Off to figure out how to do this page since I know I don't have any bowling kits in my digi stash.
I am thinking of "Red Rover".....but I'm not sure if I have any pics that would work with this. Let's go for it!
We LOVED Red Rover! That was fun with a large group of kids too...and Red Light, Green Light 1 2 3... :-) Great memories coming back to mind with all these games!

Me too! Both of those were great games to play, LOL! Lots of good memories for this one.

I foam ball would be better. I am finally back home. Car serviced, bathing suits purchased and now to pack. Oh, I still need to book hotels.
Can't wait to see all your pages!
Your friend that mentioned Spring Break on fb, might be right about that, you might want to switch up your list and call first.... I forgot that it's that time of year in the South....hotels might be mighty difficult to find...

We're not going to any major beach. We are driving to Greenville, NC tomorrow for a visit to East Carolina Univ on Monday and then driving to a beach area. There were still plenty of hotels available for the areas I checked on Travelocity. I just need to decide which one. I'm thinking Morehead City, NC.
I'm done! I couldn't think of any one childhood outdoor game, but I found great Christmas pictures from 2007 that were all about games - and for me, Christmas is all about childhood and all of those memories. We always had great new games for Christmas!
Here is mine. I think it is blurry. Sorry. Trying to hurry! My game was Follow the Leader. Here is Follow. Anyway, the journaling says that the kids followed Mom And GM letterboxing; also, that if one gets a walking stick they all have to have one! Hope the ladiebugs look like follow the leader!
Here is my page. Red Rover was my inspiration (and putting at least 3 photos on a page is no challenge for me :p....usually, it's a challenge to only put one or two).
