How would you execute this idea?
So my husband asked me to do a card for one of the men that is retiring.. no biggie right? well........ three things has to be on the card in some way..
Firefighting (truck or rescue.. not firefighter)
Tools
Fishing..
Here's my first thought.. have a firefighter fishing for a tool.. but.. since they aren't firefighters that was thrown out.. You see they are "Pyro technicians" or Fire Support.. ok ok in other words they are mechanics that work on fire trucks/rescues... LOL
Ok so maybe a firetruck fishing for a tool ?
I liked my first thought but, well, now you see why I'm asking... ok ok BEGGING for some help in the thought process..
Oh and? it has to be done by Wednesday.. nice SHORT notice I was given.l. MEN!!

I had a similar request.....but mine was camping and bicycling (road bike, not mountain bike). They weren't really related, so I made a booklet (lots of people had to sign it). I did a camping theme on the outside, then the 5 pages on the inside for people to sign had various bike stamps and such across the bottom of each page. Here's a link to the gallery post:

I love the booklet you made, PedalPower. What a clever idea!
Here's the thought I had...a fire/rescue truck with fishing paraphenalia and different tool images on/around the truck. They'd have to be small images I realize or you could make an oversize card along with your own envelope. Or maybe a 4 square/rectangle layout where 1 square would have fire equipt, one fishing, one tools and the 4th your sentiment.
Good luck!

With that lot to put together, I think I'd probably duck out of actually combining the images! I'd do something like four squares laid out "mosaic" style with a fire truck in one, tools in a second, a fish or fishing image in the third and a "Happy retirement" sentiment in the final one.
Good luck with it!

Ha - my brain obviously has a bit that works like a bit of Loretia's brain (but she types faster!)

How about a man sitting in his firetruck him daydreaming of fishing, his tools etc (using thought bubbles) and put a sentiment about wishing him the retirement of his dreams etc. You could collage a card with the images he likes.

What if you had the firetruck and tools on the front. You could put something like its time to swap fishing for tools for... and open it up (inside a rod and reel) fishing for real! Or fishing for bass! And then happy retirement!

I'd do 3 strip panels as well...one for each theme and then the sentiment on a banner over them on the bottom 1/3 of the card.
You'll have to share your end project with us!

Joanne...I'm so excited...you and I had the same idea! I now consider myself "coming along" with my growth in stamping ideas. [Because I think YOUR ideas are always so great.] Just found this thread today. Been staying bedfast for the last few days, so I wasn't able to get on site to check out things. Will continue on to see how this all played out.
