I have another card stock question for all you knowledgeable stampers, what is the best card stock for card bases? Can be from an online retailer or a brick and mortar store. Thanks!
I know everyone has their favorites, and for different reasons. I use a less expensive white cardstock for my card bases. I seldom make a card without adhering a "cardfront", so I don't need for the base to be super heavy, just a nice weight.
Also, I make a lot of cards for family and friends - sometimes I make 6 to 8 of the same design at once. That gets pretty pricey if you are using an expensive cardstock for the bases.
I usually get a pack of 250 sheets of 110 lb. white cardstock at Sam's. It's called Image Plus and costs a little over $7.00. I'm very happy with it. I also use it for stamping and coloring my images.
I have recently started using Gina K's pure luxury heavy base weight cardstock for the "base" of my cards. It has a luxurious feel and is easy to write/stamp on without smearing. I make cards for OWH and feel like it's a great weight to "hold up" for overseas mailing. I also like the way it "holds" embellishments, layers, etc. without getting ripply.
Gina K's cardstock has a sheen/glow to it that you don't notice until your card is finished , or at least that's what happens to me. I just love the rich look it gives, even when the rest of the card turns out to be less than I expected. My favorite is to use her cardstock on an all-white card, which is what I usually do for Christmas cards. The Cuttlebug opened a whole new world for making all-white cards.
It's not cheap, but as always, you get what you pay for. And no dye bleeds through it.
I use CS similarly to what Buggainok does. I usually cover up the card front and adhere stuff to the inside so 110 lb, 250 sheet to the package card stock from Staples does just fine for me.
I buy reams of 100lb Cardstock Cover from XpedX. I make cards for deployed military and really like a nice sturdy card base. I recently purchased two reams of white, one black and one dark brown. I should be set for a good long while. ~ Pam

Like so many other, I generally have a "front" on my cards as well, but even when I don't, I like Hammermill Color Copy Digital Cover paper. It's 80 lb, 100 brightness and super smooth to stamp right on for a one layer card. It's about $12 for a ream at most office supply stores and makes a nice sturdy base or card.
