Stampin fun all weekend! (Shoebox swap, technique classes, snacks, swapping, etc.) Think It.....Ink It
Lisa and I are on our way to Ocean City this weekend.... we are going to finalize the shoebox weekend. I am getting excited already.... It may be months away but it will be here before you know it.
Lisa and I had a great time at the Ocean this weekend. There were tons of vendors and great stuff. We are looking into having a vendor at our OC shoebox just to bring some flavor to our swap. Let me know what you think.
With the weather getting warm it is time to be thinking about that trip down the Ocean Hon...... this is the best weekend to sign up for shoebow swaps..... it does not get any better than this.....
Even though it's just under 4 months away, now is the time to plan for this wonderful weekend away. We learned so much last year can't wait to see what Andrea and Lisa have up their sleeves this year. Willing to drive the carpool if anyone needs a ride and as promised I won't bring that much.
I've never done a crop before it. But thinking about signing up for this one. I'd be coming alone is that normal or do most come in pairs. ( my friends are great, but not the crafty times. )
I went last year and it was LOTS of fun! It was my very first shoebox swap and while I did go with a friend, I met some wonderful new friends. All of the ladies were very nice and welcoming! There was so much to do that time just flies by. The gifts and prizes were great too! I have not signed up this year as I have a church commitment that I am working on getting out of! You will have a good time even on your own! Andrea and Lisa are wonderful hostesses and Karen (vixenstamper) keeps things lively!
Patti
I would be glad to put you on the list, there are several ladies that are coming without "friends". You will make new friends and have a great weekend. If you look at the OC shoebox from 2011 you will see responses also check out the blog and last years pictures are out there. Ask anything and Lisa and I will get back to you or our other attendees from last year. I have to say it is a great weekend away.
I keep things LIVELY - LOL!!!! Hey you gotta laugh.... and I promised myself I'm not packing EVERYTHING - will see, HAHAHAHA!!!!!
Patti, as for coming alone I came alone last year and met lots of new friends. Andrea and Lisa even found me a roomie. I think I have one this year need to check to see if she's registered yet or not, if not I'm by myself as well. You'll have a BLAST!!!

I live in Laurel, Not far from Columbia, but I am sure that we could find a place to meet. (I've lived in MD for 8 yrs and never been to OC)
One more question ladies: is there time to work on other projects (like finishing or starting those holiday cards. LOL ) Just trying to think how much I will need to pack.
Thanks! Yes, please sign me up and I will send in the registration form.
Well I'd be coming from north of Frederick/Emmitsburg area - Frederick Co - I'm sure we could find a place to meet.
As for time to work on other stuff personally I wouldn't plan on doing anything but what's there. It doesn't sound like a lot but these cards are gorgeous and lots of thought/work goes into them. I couldn't believe that it took me so long to complete cards either.
As for packing, LOL, everyone from last year would tell you I brought the motherload thinking I could get something else done well forget it, unless I did it after the room closed and I did it in my hotel room! Andrea and Lisa do an outstanding job of keeping your busy.
If I suggest anything extra to pack besides your basic supplies you would take to a crop type class I would add is a camera. Everything to complete the card is or should be included. Some people prestamped, embossed, pretied, prepunched it's up to you just make sure you label EVERYTHING! If you choose to emboss there just remember everything you need to emboss there (machine, folder, plates etc). I'm not one for following directions very well so I guess my personal list would be longer because I'm me, LOL!
Andrea or Lisa may have pics of everything I packed last time (god forbid) or her page not sure though.
I've lived in PA for 9 years and MD just over 35 years.
I have a vehicle that can hold whatever you pack plus my stuff so if you overpack it is really OK, LOL!

Thanks so much Karen for explaining the OC swap. Yes we keep you busy who knew it would have taken up til Sunday to finish 34 cards.... we had a blast and I can't wait for that weekend. I am still mending from my hospitalization... it is slow going but will be up and running for that weekend. Patti if you have further questions let us know.... I received your registration and will get back to you.... thanks.
I sent a Paypal invoice to you. Let me know if I did it correctly. I don't do it often, so I forget in between times. I'm so glad you signed up!
Karen did an excellent job explaining (thanks, Karen!) what goes on. We do try to keep you busy teaching new techniques or making a little something extra like gift card holders or ornaments and stuff like that.
It does take a long time because of the cards but also because of all the talking and eating and classes and everything. The time goes by in a blink.
I wish November would get here soon, too! Heaven knows I need a break now and will need one then. My husband and I are building a house with a target move in date of October 22nd. Nothing like squeezing everything into a two week period!
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I took a few days and went up to Hershey and enjoyed their Chocolate Spa! Let me say it was some great R & R.
I received the Invoice and will send payment over shortly! Can't wait to meet everyone.
OK so I guess I'm bunking with Deb - LOL!!!! I couldn't think of a better bunkie than you honey (OXOXOXOX) - so glad your coming this year!!!
Just so the new folks know - it really does take ALL WEEKEND to complete 25 or so cards, LOL! You just NEVER know what Lisa and Andrea have up their sleeves. It's all fun and good but you won't know unless you come!!!! So sign up now pay 1/2 and pay the other 1/2 next month and well sometime before Nov get a room, LOL!
I'm happy and sad to tell you that I am going to have to change my registration for this event. I have decided to accept a job in Nashville, TN and I will be moving from MD over Labor day weekend. I'm very excited about his opportunity, but sad that I won't be able to join you for the crop.
I attended the shoe box swap on July 28th in Bel Air. I love one of the cards can someone please tell me how to make it.... I can't waste anymore cardstock trying to figure this out. Picture is attached. Please email [email protected]
I think it's Lisa's card. Have you tried taking it apart? Looks like it's starts out as a 6" square and then about 3" on the points score. Hope that helps.
