Default CUTTLEBUG VS. CUTTLEBUG V2/?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone could please tell me the difference between the cuttlebug & the cuttlebug v2. Is there really a difference?

Thank-you for your input!

Well looks like there isn't much difference, only the handle from what I read and also alot of them do not come with the "C" plate??!!

Ok, with that being said does anyone know where I can purchase the "Blue" cuttlebug machine? It was a limited edition being sold as a bundle only! I really only want the machine!! If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!

Thanks!

I also seem to remember seing a different type of embossing folder that can be used now as well...not sure if it will only work in version 2 or not but it is different than the standard folder that I have right now

I just got the new one from Provocraft- fabulous company by the way. The girl told me that the new ones are sturdier as far as staying put on the work surface. I want to say stronger suctioN?? Haven't really played w/it yet. Also better handle. Love my bug!

The new one is a bit slimmer and takes a LITTLE bit less real estate. The suction part is stronger. The biggest difference to me is that when rolling it through it is much smoother if that makes any sense.

You might check out eBay. I've seen a couple over the year(2011).

The box says it comes with 1 "A" plate and 1 "B" plate. So no "C" plate and only 1 "B" plate. What good is one "B" plate? You need 2 "B" plates to emboss AND cut. And while I "get" them not including the "C" plate since that encourages use of other companies dies (which I think is RIDICULOUS), they should have reduced the price to reflect the omission of those items.

When I bought mine last summer 2011, I received the A plate, two B plates, and an embossing folder with my V.2 Cuttlebug. They've changed it since then?

The new V2 cuttlebug is sturdier for sure. So many of the older style Cuttlebugs were litterly blowing apart. Now, I am not sure what people were trying to squeeze through the machines ( a small elephant?). But, most of my customers still prefer the Sizzix Big Shot

A few weeks ago I purchased/received the CB V2 and it came with 2 'B' plates, one 'A' plate, no 'C' plate, and four (free) embossing folders. I purchased mine from Scrapbooking.com May the provider forgot to include the 2nd 'B' plate. Did you call them? I paid $53.00.

Best,
Mollyz

From the above posts - can I assume that the work area width of the cuttlebug v2 is the same size as that of the original cuttlebug? I'm thinking of buying a v2 for a gift and I have extra plates.

and for the record - I'm one of those who blew her first CB up.

Yes, they are the same. I had V1 and have V2.

Not sure if this applies, but I have seen another conversation on here somewhere, and people are saying the 'c' plate for the new one is narrower than the old?

I recently saw a new cuttlebug and did not like what I saw. The base where you put the plates is much shorter that the one I have. Not much of a platform to put them on KWIM?

I agree. And with my V2 the suction is not as good.
