Elizabeth, the important thing is that you are aware of how much you are spending and on what. Don't forget to put your receipt in your box. If you didn't get a receipt, you might want to write it on a piece of paper. That way, at the end of the year you'll have something to tally.
Overall, it sounds like you did pretty well. Blades and adhesive are not frivolous purchases--at least I don't consider them to be frivolous. And $11 for a paper pack isn't bad, so long as it's something you'll use.
I think it's a great that you are donating supplies. Purging is so much easier when you know something is going to a good cause or to someone that could really use an item.
