Well ladies heres a shock Im here to give you the 1st challenge for September
We all have our faves.. Favorite color, tool, technique, and layouts
Well dont use that for this one!
What is your least favorite color? Maybe its because you just cant seem to put it with anything...check out the color challenges here. Im sure youll find it!
Tools? Well mine isnt so much a tool as embellishment Eyelets! UGH I just have so many of them and they never seem to go with what Im dong so there they sit!
Techniques I do not care for dry embossing. The process..stamping, powder, heating, which I never seem to get the whole thing done and have to go back with the heat gun again! Which of course I don't notice till I am assembling the final touches to the card.
Just pick one of those or try all 3..
Since I still cant make cards I look forward to seeing yours!!

Vikki Jo, I'm a little unclear about this challenge....Do we use our own least favourite colour, combined with eyelets and heat embossing, or do we use our own least favourite everything?

Hey Ina
You may choose one OR any combination ... your choice. She just gave you multiple categories to pick from.
Hope this helps

Made a boo boo, my first card for September for my BIL made, forgot to take a piccie, didn't remember until we were walking back from the post office yesterday, oh well I've only got two this month, may have to make some stash instead now I've just ordered some more craft stuff.
I love all the "blue" cards. I find it very ironic since I got married in September and blue and white were my colors. I have oan anniversary card to make for DH plus 3 birthday cards. You would have thought I learned my lesson when I procrastinated with the retirement guest book. My dad's 83rd birthday is tomorrow and I have known I wanted to put a little picture album together for more than a month. When did I get started on it? Yep, this afternoon. I had DH print up some pictures for me. However, I didn't have much time so couldn't be too picky about what pics he printed. It's midnight and I'm still not finished. I'm keeping the book real simple. I spiral bound the book so I can add pages later. It took a couple hours to decided what paper I wanted to put each picture on. I decided to put the pictures on a solid color so Dad can see them better. I am going to adhere a piece of very vanilla cs onto the printed side to use for a journaling note. The book is put together already with the pictures. I just have to do the journaling and put a title on the front cover. I am so happy I invested in the Cinch binding machine. It made putting that book together so easy and quick. As soon as I finish it in the morning, I'll take pictures and get uploaded as soon as I can. I would like to finish it tonight, but I'm too tired to do any more on it.
Debbie, I'm so glad I have found another procrastinator! I just spent the holiday weekend with two lady friends who are like......"O.K., this job has to be done in twelve months. Lets get started and finish it today!" this spring I told my sister-in-law that I have a two year plan to get my back yard fixed up and one of the jobs would be to cut down the bushes along the fence line. She said to me, "I'll come over right now and help you do that." can you imagine?!
I'm sure you got the little album finished and I just know your dad will love it!

I did get the album finished and even took pictures of each page. I was going to upload them tonight, but decided to wait until later this week. I may not upload each page. I didn't put any embellishments on the book or the pages. I had to keep it very simple or Dad would have had a very hard seeing the pictures. He loved it. He was smiling the whole time he looked at it. We would visit for a while, then he'd pick it up and look at it again. I made the album so I can add more pages as I get new pictures.
Heres my card for the challenge set by Vikkijo, Im not keen on yellow on cards so Ive used that on my card, Im not too good at dry embossing either so Ive used that technique for the background, Quite enjoyed doing it actually,
No cards from me yet! We worked on the yard and house all Labor Day weekend. This weekend we are going on a backpacking trip. Yep, time to visit the bears again! This time we are taking our 90 pound retriever. (Bears don't like dogs.) I'm not too excited about carrying a 30 pound pack for 8 miles and sleeping on the ground. Yes, the dog carries her own pack. She carries her food and water. The scenery is supposed to be spectacular and the fishing is trophy size. (It better be...!)

I'm going to post the challenge for the 15th early in case I don't get a chance to post it next week. I was sitting here wondering how to incorporate our 39th wedding anniversary, which is the 15th. Sharon's card, or actually something in her description, gave me a little inspiration.
You know the saying "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." The challenge is to use take anything from the saying and apply it to your card. You can use everything or a combination.
Something old: use something you haven't used in at least the past 6 months. It can be a stamp, a tool, embellishment, etc.
Something new: you know we all have something we just had to have but never got around to using it. Now's the time to use it. Is it a new stamp, ribbon, dp, a new tool, etc.?
Something borrowed: This can be a stamped image someone gave you, or maybe you borrowed a stamp or tool from a friend, or it can be something recycled from another greeting card or, perhaps, you've been meaning to case a card from the gallery.
Something blue: Your card must have something blue on it. It could be the dominate color or just a little touch.
I can't wait to see what you come up with. Now that I think about it, I can't wait to see what I might come up with. I have to make DH an anniversar card.
Debbie, love this challenge. And I think I know how you got to thinking in that direction. Was it what I said about the things, I had never used before? LOL
Anyway, I am looking forward to this. I have so many things I have never used yet, and I have lots of borrowed images. I am always going to my GFs and using their stamps, then when I use them for somthing and put a card of SCS, I have to call and ask what set it was from.
See you later. Still have to cards for really special birthdays to make yet this month.
Oops, I forgot the keyword. Thanks for reminding me Sharon. AOCC12R. Sorry about that. You are so right about where I got my inspiration. I plan on making my card tomorrow or Monday.
Sharon, congratulations on 46 years. My dad's 83rd birthday was on the 3rd.
Sharon, a belated Happy anniversary to you and your DH......wow! 46 years.....I only managed to stay married for 16 years! And an early congratulations to you and your DH too Debbie! This is a great challenge, and I hope to make a card tomorrow!

It's been ages since I uploaded any cards, but I have been making them. I just finished an 11-card set of OSWs and it took me hours to edit the photos and upload all of them plus a few more recent card. I've still got a few cards I need to edit/upload, but I'm too tired tonight.
I've only got 5 birthdays for September, but have already sent a few get well cards. I still need to make August & September Christmas cards. Sorry about this being such a long list of new cards in my gallery.
Thank you, Ina. Some days I wonder how we made it this far but we hung in there. I know a lot of it had to with DH getting and staying sober.
I still haven't made my card. I was hoping to get it done this weekend, but I didn't feel like doing anything yesterday and today I've been doing some housework. Between the dusting and the smoke in the air, I've been doing a lot of sneezing. I wish the wind would change direction and take the smoke back to where it came from. Not sure what part of the state is burning now. The whole state needs it to rain a lot for a couple days. The firefighters are very thinly spread out. Talk about your unsung heroes.
Well, here is another card for September. It's already been sent off to a former member of our church, a little Dutch lady, who has moved to a retirement community.
For the AOCC12Q challenge, to use my least favourite colour....orange, although pink comes a close second! Bah, orange! by yellowrose46 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

Even though the two following cards are Christmas cards, I used Debbie's challenge for this week, to feature 'Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue'.
Congratulations to Sharon and Debbie, we celebrated our 41st back in may, can't imagine where all those years have gone, my DH says he would have served less time for murder!!
Lovely cards Val, haven't had time to look at them all yet, you've been very busy!
I haven't had time to do the challenge yet as I've been battling to finish the anniversary card before Thursday, I need to make a birthday card today for a friend and get it posted. Maybe I can use the challenge!
Thanks for the lovely comments on my cards ladies! Just a note to Jan.....there aren't too many of those windmills left in the Netherlands.........most of their pumping power comes from the new modern windmills now. But it's fun driving through the countryside and spying some of these old ones. Just FYI, I am Dutch too, born there, and most of my relatives still live there, even though I have been in Canada since I was a year old.

Managed to make a birthday card for a friend today, cheated a little as my friend bought me some Wellington bear card toppers as a gift so I used one for the first card, the second card is for the challenge, something blue is the background, something old is a piece of card already embossed weeks ago and the oval cut a while ago, new is the digi stamp.
Oh I didnt realise you were dutch Ina, its a beuatiful country, lovely and flat too, we have quite a few dutch friends here in spain, do you manage to go over to visit much ?
It's been 5 years since I was back for a visit! We should be having a family reunion (we call it a cousins' day) this fall, if I am not mistaken, but maybe they have postponed it for another year. I'm sorry to say I haven't called my cousins for quite awhile. Something on the to-do list for today!

Debbie, your smoke probably is coming from the huge fire in the central mountains of Idaho, near Salmon. BLM can't get it out, will have to snow on it to get it out. It's so smokey here from the Jackson, Wyoming fire.

Sounds pretty bad with those fires around, we were travelling through LA a few years back and saw them there, very frightening, we were lucky to not be delayed as they closed the freeway, there's been bad fires down near Malaga this year.
I have a lot of catching up to do on this thread. Have to go back and read, and look at gallery and comment!
Thank you for the congrats on our anniversary. Here is an 80th card I need to get in the mail. I used Debbie's challenge to inspire the card. It is also for Vicki's "least favorite embellishment/tools" challenge. I can't find the keyword for that. Anyway I used eyelets just for her! I hate doing them, and I have thousands!
Sharon
Diane, some of the smoke might have been from some of your fires, but we've had lots around the state.
I made it through the weekend of library workshops. I never did make a card for my challenge. Last week was so stressful. DH is on the mend. He's still uncomfortable but he's being a good boy and leaving the packing in his nose. he just needs to hang in there for 4 more days. I'm really hoping I'll be able to get back into a somewhat normal routine this week.
Ina, I'm really hoping I can get some cardmaking done this weekend. I don't think there's anything planned for Sunday and Monday. I do have to make a card for my granddaughter before the end of the month. It would be nice to send it on time for a change.
