DEC11VSNE~ Friday, Dec 9 ~ 9pm EST~ Jack's been painting his frosty pictures again!
Title: Jack's been painting his frosty pictures again!
Hostess: Vannessa (saffivort)
Keyword: DEC11VSNE
Day/Date: Friday, December 9th
Time: 9:00pm EST
I love the early frosty mornings of winter when all the trees and leaves are covered with a layer of pure white frosting! You know Jack Frost has been out and about during the night to make everything pretty and white.
I found these lyrics to a Jack Frost song and they were just perfect for this challenge!
Come out, come out!
Winter is here;
Come out, come out!
The weather is clear.
Jack Frost has brought something
For you and for me;
His frosty white paintings --
A wonder to see!
Come look, come look!
We've only begun;
Come look, come look!
For Jack is not done.
Yes, there are more presents
From jolly Jack Frost;
They're hidden in leaves
That the north wind has tossed.
Ripe nuts, ripe nuts!
For me and for you;
Ripe nuts, ripe nuts!
Let's gather a few.
Jack Frost seems to know
That we love things to eat;
And hot roasted chestnuts
Are such a good treat!
Your challenge is to create a card using the frosted images technique. This is a really nice easy one to do. Stamp your image using whichever colour you choose, then stamp over the top in white and smudge it a bit with your finger. You get a muted image with a delicate layer of frost over the top!
For my Christmas trees card I added a bit of extra frost just by smudging some more white ink round the image using my finger straight to the ink pad.
You can also see this technique being done by Lisa Johnson for a Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge here.
UPLOADING/CHALLENGE INSTRUCTIONS:

I think i will have to try and frost a card tomorrow!!! Just too tired to go on...but I have this challenge written on my handy dandy tracking sheet!!! My music card looks VERY PLAIN....will probably post it anyway...
Thank you to all the hostesses ...it's been fun!!!!
Very cool technique. I will go try it! We always learn something new during VSN! Thank you for the challenge! Your tree card was very pretty.

That's one of the things I love most about VSN - I always find new techniques to try or new colour combos and I have so much fun doing it at the same time.
I don't usually make too many cards (only at Christmastime) and this looks like a really neat technique. I love your sample! (you wouldn't mind if I CASE'd it, would you? ) Super job!
Oops! First, I have to clean my area! It's a mess!

Hi Sharon! waving......I figured I might see you here tonight. I'm surfing for ideas for the rest of my Christmas Cards and this one seems really neat and one I could do pretty easily.

Of course I wouldn't mind at all! So glad you like the look of this technique.

I'm confused by that c-word you're using....

Here is my Frosted Bird.
thank you ! I learned something new. The problem I had was getting the image stamped in the same place two times! Also, I have very inky fingers!
