Has anyone figured out how to use the Sizzix Big Shot Pro with Spellbinders Grand nestabilities? The Big Shot Pro adaptor is only 1/4 inch thick so I'm trying to create sandwiches to use my grands. I can't believe Sizzix doen't make an adaptor the same thickness as the regular Big Shot/Kick.
I know some people have made their own shim for these , ( and some have broken their machines too) so after alot of thinking and looking around I saw sizzix had free shipping last week and I brought the 657435 Sizzix Big Shot Pro Accessory - Solo Platform, Shim & Wafer Thin Die Adapter yes it was 39.99 but it works great with the spellbinders and with free shipping it was better for me then to risk harming my machine. ( I am one that really looks for a better way to do somthing before buying something, I was going to make the platform myself and I think you could but for me this was the best way to go.love that I can now use my grand spellbinder dies with out a hassle of clipbord building.
Thanks so much for the great info. This sounds like the perfect solution. I think I will take the route you did and purchase the Big Shot Pro accessories. I'm off to hunt for the best price. I'd hate to mess up my Big Shot Pro with trial and error fixes. Thanks again.
Hi, through a German scrapbookcompany I purchased a adapter plate (think about the A plate of the CB only 12 x 12!!) No more fuss with what kind of sandwich!!!
Here's the link for the webshop:Distanzplatte fr Big Shot PRO fr Spellbinders inkl. Anleitung - Creativ Stempel- & Scrapbookingshop
I just took a looksie and lo and behold, the plates are much cheaper now then when I got it (they are now €29,90 in stead of the €43,50 I paid....)
The site is in German but I think if you wanted to contact them through the contact sheet you can do it in English.
Hope this helps!!
I forgot to mention that on the picture they look a lot like the adapter plate that comes with the machine. Here's a Youtube link: Spellbinders with Big Shot Pro - YouTube and this one is what I have.
I just looked at the link from Krysiad, and this is the sizzix big shot pro Accessory for use with the spellbinder dies it looks just like the cuttlebug A plate only 12x12 plus one that is like the B plate and a thin sheet for a shim
657435 Sizzix Big Shot Pro Accessory - Solo Platform, Shim & Wafer Thin Die Adapter yes it was 39.99 .

Crafts4thesoul, that's right and that is the way I describe it as the A plate from the CB just bigger.
I must say that since I have it I use my Pro more and more and all my dies from different manufacturers are gliding through it....heaven!!!
sorry , I didn't relize that you were talking about the sizzix adapter when I read your post. yes we are talking about the same thing. I agree this is heaven to use so easy with all the spellbinder and thin dies to use so quick and easy.
So here I am working, or trying to work, on calendars for Christmas and absolutely needed to run my Spellbinders Grands through my BSP for the covers. I thought I had everything I needed when I purchased the Westminster.
Oh well, at least I was able to find this thread to let me know what one more thing I need to buy to make this work! Guess the 2012 calendars for Christmas aren't going to happen - maybe 2013, LOL!
