Challenge Title: Frilly Paper Ribbon
Hostess: Edna15
Keyword: HYCCT1130
Date: Sunday, October 30th, 2011
Well I am the first to admit that I have an over abundance of ribbons in my stash but sometimes we all need to make use of the basics and take up the challenge to use things in different ways...
So to honour using "what you got".... recycle some tissue paper or get the crepe paper out from the costume box, or convert a strip of discarded DSP into a Frilly Ribbon to adorn a card. Make it cheery make it nice, make someone's day with a fabby little frilly little card.
Here are some thoughts on how to approach this challenge:
Dini has made her ribbon by fancy folding DSP
va.sunshine has pleated a strip of DSP for her ribbon
Wattle has stamped on tissue paper for her ribbon
Edna15 has die cut multiple layers of white tissue and coloured them with spritz for her ribbon
We are so glad you've joined us for this wonderful month - I can't wait to see what you create! Feel free to do multiple samples for each challenge, and remember, the goal of the challenge is to get these cards in the hands of the strong ladies being treated at MD Anderson, so be sure and follow the instructions below!

Ha, the only crepe paper I have is black, which I got for Lydia's darling paper doll - so I don't think I'll be using that!! Off to examine my dies and see will any of them work.
What a fun challenge .
Today's Hope You Can Cling To Challenge is one of my favorites- using your frilly papers and such. I started with Memory Box's Spring Fling for the friendly bunny. I added some gathered ribbon, and to accent the green from the ribbon and bunny's basket, some green paper from Basic Grey. For texture, I used a recycled cardboard box embossed with script, and daubed with green ink. I finished with a double heart- and a feather- lots of love to you all! I wanted to do a fall card and use the "Love Ya!" my kids and I always say to each other. It's casual, but dear to me, and I thought the ladies battling breast cancer would appreciate this. I used SU's Carved and Candlelit for the pumpkin, and stamped in bronze a circle of flowers. I used Inkadinkado's spring mini for the message, along with their fall leaves stamp. The wrought iron like border is done with MS' Playful penguins border punch. I finished with some perky ribbons. Here is my HYCCT1130 paper ribbon card. I cut the sled slope free hand from three different papers. I popped out the edges by antiquing and adding dimensionals. The paper ribbon was made by stamping plain paper and running it through a crimper. I'm making four of these to send in.

This was absolutely, positively the hardest challenge for me! Ribbon and paper just don't work! My humble attempt (which was a gallery case for the technique) can be found here:
Here's mine -- and thanks for this great challenge -- I've been meaning to try this and this was the kick in the you-know-where to actually try it! It wasn't as easy as the youtube videos make it look LOL!
