WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #169
THIS THING JUST FEELS WRONG!
A CUP OF TEA WON'T TAKE THAT LONG!
LET'S JUST TAKE THE KING OUTA KONG!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. You know you have teaparties on your brain when a simple conversation with a fellow stamper inspires an idea for the next Tickle a Teapotter Teaparty! In a recent email exchange, Darla
(Darla Ryan) explained that her outgoing mail can sometimes be a little sketchy because she lives on a foggy island in the North Atlantic. She says mail can sit for days at the ferry terminal or airport because of weather. Well, the foggy little island part put a vision of King Kong in my mind! Oooh!! I mentioned to her that I could just see her stomping her foot and yelling up at King Kong! You put that envelope down right now Kong, or else!! A Teapotter friend of mine is expecting that! Well, one thing lead to another and I found myself wondering if King Kong would like to come to a teaparty! We are off to Newfoundland where there may not be skyscrapers for Kong to scale but there are definately rocky cliffs!
2. I don't think I need to introduce you all to King Kong! You have probably seen him 42,000 times! But, I can tell you a story about him that I bet you didn't know! Turns out he's a tormented soul having always to live up to his reputation! He just wants to live his life and enjoy the simple pleasures with no worry of being macho! We invited him to a teaparty! Turns out he loves teaparties as much as he loves pretty blonde girls! But, once again worries about the repercussions of being King Kong at a teaparty sank in and now he is sad. He doesn't think he can go, even for a couple of hours! No worries, we just gotta take the King outa Kong for a couple of hours and make him feel at ease and comfortable.
This Whole Deal Just Seems Wrong!
A Cup of Tea Won't Take Too Long!
Let's Just Take the King Outa Kong!
3. Let's entice him to the teaparty by doing some redecorating to make him feel at home! I have already started to tear down the big ole fence replacing it with rows and rows of stacked teapots! He loves teapots! He will carefully step over them so as not to break any! Once inside, he won't be greeted with roses, pearls and lace all over the place! He will find jungle, rocks and trees, a full moon if you please! A teaparty in the fog sittin' on a comfy log. Friendly teapotter talk, while admiring a pretty rock! No lace in this space, a little dirt never hurt! He won't fall in a pit, then throw a big fit. This will be a big hit, he'll be content to just sit! He won't worry of defeat, instead which treat should he eat? He'll get his tea while its hot and forget the battles he's fought! He's one hairy fellow and likes two things in yellow! Bananas make him smile and will ease his mind for awhile! And blondes make him swoon, he'll flirt all afternoon! He'll soon get all teary, in a place he finds erie. Let's take the King out of Kong, that can't be wrong! Drinking tea with the gals, he'll meet a whole buncha new pals! This teaparty feels good, like he's at home in the hood! His day will be so much better, he might even give Darla back her letter!
4. Okay, you know what to do! A Teaparty with a theme! King Kong style!
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION:
Make a card appealing to King Kong! Ha! Make a card with foilage, rocks, cliffs, apes, monkeys, logs, full moons, fog, bananas, blondes and a wall of teapots! Don't bring your best china, bring pottery type teapots, macho type teapots (or at least in browns, blacks and tans!) Bring teapots King Kong would like as well as teapots that will survive if he happens to trip over the Stacked Teapot Totem! If you bring a blonde, be prepared to leave her behind!
Nobody comes in the back door this week! It's more about being able to leave! He might be one big lovable ape at the teaparty but his past tells us that he can be awfully moody, as evidenced by the attached picture!! You saw what he did to the airplanes! Ooh, don't bring any of those! Are you nuts?
