A few years ago a small town here in Michigan decided to “Turn the town Pink for Christmas.” Part of the kick off was a “Power of Pink Brunch” and the speaker that year was the young woman that happened to be Miss Michigan at the time. She did a little exercise that I’d like to share with you.
To start you need to imagine yourself in a room full of women, be it a stampin’ get together, a conference, a school reunion, church, or the workplace.
Now close your eyes while I ask some questions, imagine that room full of women and keep your eyes closed:
1) Everyone stand that has/had breast cancer
2) Stand if you’ve had a mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, or daughter touched by the disease.
Do you hear chairs shuffling around you?
3) Stand if you’ve had a neighbor, friend, school mate, or co-worker touched by the disease.
Now open your eyes and look around, what do you think you’ll see in this room full of women?
I imagine that every person in this room will be standing.
This is why SCS has Hope you can cling to …. It touches us all.
So my challenge to you is to make a pink collage! Use the photos below for inspiration, and do a collage in any of the following ways:

UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. All Hope You Can Cling To Challenge Entries must be uploaded to the Hope You Can Cling To Gallery, with the specific challenge keyword, no later than November 7th, 2011 at 12:00 Noon Central Time to be eligible for our fabulous prizes! Post a link to your entry in this thread.
2. You may not combine challenges, but you are welcome to create multiple cards for each challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
4. Please package all challenge entries with an envelope, protected with a clear plastic bag and mail them to our partner at the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center to benefit patients being treated for breast cancer and their family. We would like for them to receive cards throughout the month of October, but we understand if you'd like to mail all your cards at once.
5. Since these cards will be used by visitors for patients, most should be blank inside, but feel free to send cards with messages of hope for the patients in addition to your challenge cards!

I think this is the toughest challenge yet! Not sure how well this one will turn out or how fitting it will be to the challenge but a card will be made.
I surprised myself at how much I enjoyed the last collage challenge we had - it's not normally my style. So I'm looking forward to this . I've done serendipity by applying scraps of paper to a sheet of card for the background, instead of DTP, and then stamping over them - it's a fun technique and I might just try this one. Inking the background instead of starting with a paper collage would be a whole lot less messy and time-consuming.
Ooooh....I love collage art....no way to mess it up cuz there aren't any rules....yep, my kind of art....I haven't ever seen that serendipity style though, will have to try that sometime...looks fun and messy....just my style...
Ooooo! A coincidence! I just bought a stamp set that I wanted to try something like this with. I wasn't sure where to start. Now, I have a direction. This will be new for me as well. Fun!
Sheri, if you want really messy serendipity, try tearing up scraps of paper and gluing them to a large sheet of card without a Xyron ;). And then do your random stamping etc. It's a great look, though - worth the mess; I have a few cards in my gallery using it.
I finally got my card uploaded - I was having upload issues and thanks to Lydia I was able to get my picture to upload after rebooting my computer. Go figure! At any rate my quilted collage card can be found here:
I loved your Michigan story.We just did The Run For A Cure last week and the amount of people there was astounding and everyone of them was running for themselves, their families or friends. This awful disease touches so many people! Thank you for spreading the awareness .
I haven't been able to play much but I am writing down all the challenges in my notebook and when I have time I have been trying to make a card. Your inspirational message brought tears to my eyes!!!!! Thanks for hosting this challenge! I would love to try this one if I can make the time!!!
Wow thank you everyone for playing along with me today. I'm just getting home from work and it hasn't been the best day (or week for that matter) your words of hope, your art, and the stories you've shared literally brought the first smile of the day to my face!

Found the collage idea to be a challenge (guess that's what it supposed to be!!). I've never tried anything like this before and I used a bunch of colors I've never used before. Hope the final result looks okay.

Okay, clearly I don't read directions well...I make something that wasn't pink. Guess I'd better go back and try again! Oops.
Here's the card that I should have made the first time. I need to stop reading the directions first thing in the morning then making the card late in the afternoon!!! Sorry about the goof, I'm sending both versions of the card off to MD Anderson.
