MMTPT168 ~ HOCUS POCUS! LET ME FOCUS! COME TO ME MY MAGIC SNAKES!
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #168
HOCUS POCUS! LET ME FOCUS!
COME TO ME MY MAGIC SNAKES!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. I love a happy ending to a fairytale, or a movie, or a book! I recently watched some movie with Jennifer Aniston and Ben Afflack (can't remember the name of it!) and the whole time, I was thinking, this is gonna have a bummer ending, I just know it! But it had a great ending! Whoo hoo! I suppose you can imagine that it was all about them getting together in the end, after many issues! Ha! Yup, gotta love a happy ending like that! A Happily Ever After kinda ending! I hate a bummer ending!
2. Once upon a time there was a mean old Stepmother! She had lots of step-daughters (42,000 Snarky Ones) that she favored and a few (3 Sweet Ones) that she did not! The Snarky Ones gotta do anything they wanted and they were basically your full fledged bullies to the Sweet Ones! Typical! And this old Step Mom (Let's just call her Battleax Betty!) 100% encouraged their snarky behavior. Unbelievable! Don't ya just find yourself thinking, how on earth does a step-daughter or three, find themselves chosen to be the bullied ones? Mind Boggling! Well, it turns out it has to do with teapots, cupcakes and pink gingham! Crazy! Hey, don't ask me what's wrong with those three things! It's must have to do with the Sweet Ones relating to each other, having something in common and just plain having fun with each other even if is scrubbin floors, beating rugs or doing the Snarky One's laundry!
3. One day as Cakerella, Gingarella and Tearella were in the midst of doing the laundry, giggling about the new pink and white gingham dress the mice made for Gingarella! They decided to take a little break and have some tea and cupcakes! Big Mistake! Big! The Snarks discovered them having fun and let's just say it was the last straw in Battleax Betty's eyes! She is sick of hearing about fancy cupcakes, gingham dresses and lady-like tea! Rut Roh! In a fit of rag and terror she yelled!
Hocus Pocus! Let Me Focus!
Come to Me My Magic Snakes!
Hocus Pocus! Let Me Focus!
You Three Maids Are Now Cupcakes!!
Well, her snakes are not that good! Big Surprise! They failed to take the sweet out of the sweet but they did manage to turn the girls into cupcakes, stuck on a teapot, with a wee bit of the gingham adorning the bottom! It's really quite sweet! Ha! Wanna know what's funny? The Sweet Ones love being cupcakes! They don't have to do any work, the snarks can't get at 'em and their wee little mice buddies can hide in the teapot! Oh, and they just sit around all day talking gingham, cupcakes, and teapots! Hallelujah!
4. Now don't be surprised that this has fueled Battleax Betty's rage X 42,000! She sent her snakes to villan school and on Midnight of Teapot Tuesday (October 18th) the snakes will return with the Step-Mother and the Snarky Step-Daughters in tow. Cakerella, Gingerella, and Tearella will be doomed! We must come up with a plan! The mice are scramblin', the Sweet Ones are freaked and the only thing I can think of is more cupcakes! Yum! Okay, well, not to eat, but as amo! To guarantee a Happily Ever After ending, it's a cupcake fight to the end!! Bring cupcakes!! All sizes! Big ones especially with gooey frosting that will get in their eyes and hamper their aim! Bring big ole bomb cherries to drop on their heads! Bring big ole sprinkles that will hamper the snake's slithering! Here's a thought! Maybe, just maybe, if we bring the most luscious looking cupcakes on the face of the earth, the snarky ones will eat so many and gain so much weight that they won't be able to move! Yah, let's do that!! Oh and we better bring some extra teapots and pink gingham because I have a feeling we will need some replacements after this battle! Do not disappoint! We need this Happily Ever After Ending! If the clock strikes midnight and is not a gooey frosting aftermath, we might have to suffer a bummer ending, again! Not gonna happen!
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION:
Make a card with cupcakes! Any kind! Any style! Make them ooey, make them gooey, make them sweet, sweet, sweet! Bring a cherry on the top, bring some sprinkles or extra topping. Oh, and bring some teapots, teacups and gingham, perferable pink! If you bring a magic snake, back door for you! Hold on! I just heard something about Battleax Betty! She is allergic to African Violets! That will keep her at bay! Bring AFRICAN VIOLETS if you have any handy! Whoot!
DESTINATION STATION:
This week our destination is Aurora, Colorado. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it Elsie! Elsie is a good friend of Sharon (smadson). Elsie is celebrating her birthday on October 31st (no Halloween cards please) and this year we need to make her birthday extra happy, fun and exciting as this has been a sad year for Elsie.
Elsie's son (David C. Carter) was killed in Afghanistan. He was the co-pilot of the Chinook helicopter that was shot down killing 30 U.S. troops, including 17 Navy Seals. You can read more about David C. Carter and Elsie as well as get Elsie's address in Post #252 of the Destination Station thread. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is totally 100% voluntary!
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT168 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given me permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Friday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send me a pm with your email address if you wanna be a Cheater!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges. Feel free to grab this I survived Teapot Tuesday Badge for your blog!
Cindy, Oh my goodness!!!! I love your cupcake card with our names on it. Elsie, is just going to love, love, love this. You have made it so personal for her! Thank you so much!
Thanks Cindy. I've had this stamp for it seems like ever and it's never seen ink. It's quite small and I almost forgot I had it. Here is my "Ooey, Gooey, With a Cherry on Top"

No snakes here, Cindy...UGH. Just a yummy cupcake. Think it would go pretty well with tea too! ; ) Hopefully, Elsie's mailbox will be crammed with cheerful birthday greetings and may the year ahead be a better one for her.
Here come the Cupcake, tea and violets to keep Battleax Betty away. Plus, I am on time. This will go out to Elsie tomorrow with love and prayers. tfl
I guess it would help if I posted the link to my card. It is 12:30 am and I definitely need to go to bed. I will be back tomorrow to comment on all the wonderful cards.
October 18, 2011 is National Chocolate Cupcake Day.
Its National Chocolate Cupcake Day! see here
Chocolate cupcakes are a delightful treat served at gourmet bakeries and kitchen tables across the country. Cupcakes first emerged during the 19th century in the United States. There are two theories about how they got their name. One claims that the miniature cakes were originally baked in cups. The other suggests that the name comes from the recipe, which was measured out by the cupone cup butter, two cups sugar, three cups flour, four eggs, one cup milk, one spoonful baking soda. Cupcakes are now made with a variety of flavors, ingredients, and decorations, but simple chocolate cupcakes remain a perennial favorite. Bake, frost, and decorate a batch today to celebrate National Chocolate Cupcake Day!
Ha, I declared my cupcake was chocolate even before I saw Fran's post that it's National Chocolate Cupcake Day. Wonder if I can find time to bake the real thing to celebrate?
Here's my card; I'll be back later to comment.
My head has been so dizzy from sinus/allergies that I hadn't really planned to play until I saw this cupcake image on a flour sack this morning. Cut it out and here it is:
Your cards are all so gorgeous and scrumptios looking! I can't wait to hear what Elsie has to say when she starts getting these beauties! I will be sure and pass on what she has to say. But I say, again, I think you all are wonderful to throw this party for Elsie! And especially thank you to our wonderful Mother, Cindy! Thank you!

Here is my cupcake delight. Just happened to have this paper on hand which matched the set "The More the Merrier" in style of the elements. Wish I had all these cupcakes to eat right now! :p
