Help me understand PLEASE
I would love to join this group but have never done any of the challenges. This sounds like one I would like to be involved with. Unfortunately, I don't quite understand how it all works. My impression is that you post different challenges ever ??? days/weeks. People make a card that fits that description, uploads and picture of it and then sends the real one to the address you have listed? Am I on the right road here? Thanks, Jill

Hi Jill! We would love to have you join us!
The Hope You Can Cling To challenges will be posted daily throughout the month of October.
You can participate in as many or few as you'd like. Make a card that fits the challenge you choose, upload a picture of it into the Hope You Can Cling To gallery with the appropriate challenge keyword in the keyword section (starts with HYCCT11__ - each challenge has a unique keyword assigned to it). There will be prize drawings so be sure you get your card into the HYCCT gallery when you upload! The intent of this series of challenges is to collect and send cards to the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for visitors to share with the patients there, so when you're done with your cards, note the instructions for sending them in.
Feel free to ask if you have more questions!

Yes what Dina said! We would love to have you and everyone will help you if you get stuck! I just posted today's challenge. If you look at the Master Challenge Thread you will see the four we've had so far and you still have plenty of time to do those.
Hugs!

Is it too late to join this group? I've not ever done anything like this. So, I make some cards, take pix and put here then send the cards to MD Anderson Cancer Center? I have had brain surgery myself and sometimes I need things really explained for me to understand. ALSO..how do I join this group??? Thanks!

You just joined! Welcome...
There are challenges posted every day. You can find all the challenges in the Master Tracker.
Make a card for the challenge, upload the picture here and then send them to MD Anderson..
Easy peasy and LOTS of FUN!! If you have any other questions, just ask :-)

This is a great project and I'd like to climb on board.
Warning: I'm a complete novice card maker! But this will force me to practice what I keep coming here to read about.

I too want to participate but am confused on line 2 of the challenge threads where it says we can NOT combine challenges. We can make multiples in each challenge.
So does this mean we can only choose one category? They all seem fun and I'd like to do several but don't want to break any rules. I would love to try and win something too but that is the secondary thing...first I'd like to send hope to someone through my cards! Hoe to hear from you soon about what to do and not do since I am confused by that #2 rule. THANKS!!!!

Hi Ivonne!
Sorry for the confusion.
Here's the deal - you can (and I hope you do make a card for every challenge). You can make multiples for every challenge.
What you are not allowed to do is make one card and use it for two or more different challenges - that's what we mean by combining. So let's say you make a circle card with a critter and bling - you could not keyword that for Beate's challenge and my challenge and Lori's challenge - you'd have to just pick one challenge that you're posting that card for.
Most people make more than 34 cards during this challenge - for challenges you really like it's fun to go back and make 3 or 4 cards and use that challenge keyword on each one.
Does that make more sense?

I believe that all that means is that in order to be eligible for prizes, you have to submit one card per challenge.
So for example, If I made a circular card that also had rhinestones on it, I could not say that, that one specific card was my submission for the circle card challenge AND the bling challenge. I would have to choose one or the other and then make a different card for the challenge I didn't choose...
Does that make sense?

YES!!!!! Clarity! Thank you for explaining! That makes a lot more sense and not sure why I didn't get that before! I'm going to blame it on my asthma and the lack of oxygen to my brain right now.
Yeah! No limits! I have not had a camera before but my sis is letting me borrow hers so I hope to start a gallery with this challenge!
So let me get this straight, I can enter EVERY challenge as many times as I want even if tha challenge was announced earlier in the month?
I think I might have my mom and sis join me in making some cards to mail...the mor the better!
And just to know, how do prizes get awarded...by categories?
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the quick replies and I am off to get started! =)

We do the larger grand prizes at the end with a random drawing from all the people that complete ALL the challenges. The rest we do from all participants. I'm sprinkling some surprises throughout the month chosen by our partner at MD from the ones that are mailed.

OK, I have been lying low and kind of skimming these challenges. I want to start making some cards now so I can still make cards for every challenge right? I mean, we don't have a time limit on a challenge as long as they are in by November 7? Just want to make sure before I start. Thanks much.

yay, got some of my questions answered...
so,
1. make the challenge card....
2. upload the card to the Colors of Hope gallery
3. Include the keyword for the challenge
5. make and upload by the 7th November
6. Send to the medical centre...
????? Do the cards need to arrive by the 7th to be eligible?
thanks

Hey Ros!
For #2 - it's the Hope You Can Cling To Gallery - it's right up near the top of the gallery listing when you go to choose.
Also for #2a - go back to the thread for the challenge and post a link to your card in the gallery so the hostess knows it's there and can comment
Everything else is right thank you for playing!!

That's correct. The only time limit is that all cards made for any of the Hope You Can Cling To challenges need to be uploaded to the Hope You Can Cling To gallery category by noon central time November 7.

Forgot to mention that you need to make sure you put the correct challenge keyword in the "keyword" field for each upload.
