Yep. Less than an hours drive. I'm one of four kids and she had five. It was fantastically crazy there for so many years. She was fearless. She went back to college in hr 50s and got her psych degree and became a parole officer. She even met and interviewed Charles Manson! She got sick and died within a year.
She would do the craziest things. WE live near-ish Berkeley and she'd go to nude theater or trapeze therapy sessions. ROFL. She didn't take no s h!t from anyone LOL
