Welcome to another Ways To Use It Challenge! As you know, this month, Michelle asked us to go with a Back to School Theme. This week it's my turn. Next to stamping and scrapbooking, one of my passions is reading. I'm constantly snagging a paper napkin, receipts, well, just about any scrap of paper I can find to keep my place. I love books, so it's against my law to dog ear the page. SO you obviously see where I'm headed, right?
This week, we're going to make a bookmark project. The key is - the bookmark itself has to be either stand alone or be detachable from your card or project.
I can't wait to see what you come up with - always love to see how you all take a challenge and run with it.
Need help linking a card? Follow these instructions!
1. Open 2 windows: One window for your card and one for this thread. 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Got to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Youre done!
Can't wait to see your project!

Ha, I just don't bother marking my page - I think it's good for my memory to try to remember .And then, while I wouldn't dog-ear a page either, I also don't like any bulky bookmarks so I always feel I make very plain bookmarks when it comes to challenges. But I want to have another go at the tutorial in Resources for the card with the detachable bookmark, now I have a better perforator, so I'll probably have a go at that.

A lovely challenge, Collette. I'm an avid reader too...at least one book a week. This challenge gave me a chance to create a holiday card for one of my friends with whom I share books. The reason for vellum is shared in my description. Thanks.
What a perfect challenge as I was going to make a card to put a book store gift card in and now he'll have a bookmark to go with his new books! Here's my Mark's 50th

What a wonderful challenge. And perfect for my day! I'm home recovering from a bit of surgery vowing to do all of this week's SCS challenges and finish Ann Patchett's State of Wonder for my book club. Now I'll make a bookmark to send with the book as I pass it along. I've already enjoyed lots of wonderful ideas from everyone else.
I am across the country from my home visiting my son in CT but I made this and another bookmark (in my gallery) just before I left. I LOVE to read and I like putting bookmarks in birthday cards (there are other bookmarks shown with cards in my gallery).
I am not sure if I did this right. It wouldn't let me copy from edit so I just copied the address after I opened my card in My Gallery. I have never done a challenge before so forgive me if I have done this incorrectly.
What a wonderful challenge! I combined a bookmark with a gift tag for my dear friend Miriam, who is moving back to Wisconsin - she's almost 90!
Inside this brightly wrapped package are 2 wonderful mysteries she loaned me.
As for the bookmark- I added a stitched fabric square for some color, and stayed with fall shades. Used American Crafts ribbon, then punched a hole in the top to thread the green embroidery floss through to attach it to the teal package ribbon.
Happy Reading! Here's my bookmark/tag: WT342 Thank you, Miriam by Crafty Julia - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

WT342 birds and squirrels in a pine tree by Crafty Julia
I decided to make my bookmark out of a holiday themed pine needles and cone combination, and I added some birds and a squirrel from SU's Wildlife Reserve. I added some red accents to the design for a little pizazz- including a red sparkly bow, and the background is a vintage tag from Graphic 45.
Enjoy!
I love this spiderweb material! I made it the focal point of my Halloween -WT128, bookmark -WT342. I added some stitching this morning while waiting for my brakes to be checked- and from there, I used my CM mini halloween punch, some rainbow rickrack, and an antique brad from SU.
