Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. This is my story!
1. This fun little piece of teapot inspiration makes me think about the fact that my neighbor is a Master Gardener. This time of year that fact is quite evident. I have about 12 little tulips planted in a circle around a little tree in our front yard and every year I think I am hot stuff when I can see the green of my little tulips poke outa the dirt! But, that feeling is short lived when I glance over at the neighbor's yard at her array of vivid color and burst of bulb bloomin' beauty! That's probably why my tulips are so shy! It's not easy getting shown up year after year by what's happening next door! No wonder they stay in the ground a little longer than they should! And now for the rest of the story......
2. Meet Shelly Mae Shulep! She lives for the Kentucky Derby each year! The day after the Kentucky Derby she begins to plan for the next one! It's hard keeping up her reputation as she has become quite known for her big fancy, sophisticated hats, painted finger nails, big and bold jewelry and oh, those shoes! Sometimes she needs stilts just to climb up on them! But its her love for tulips that sets her apart! She claims the tulips make her feel happy and free! Well, some say its not really the tulips that makes her feel happy and free, some say its her love for Mint Juleps! Everyone really does like her, she is a good person, they have just had to accept her odd little eccentricities!
3. Now most times when you get a Save the Date Announcement, it has to do with an upcoming wedding but Shelly's Save the Date Announcement each year has become a sign of Spring! Her tulips poppin' up in her garden is a sign that its time to get her Kentucky Derby plans underway. She invites about 42,000 friends over and practices for the Kentucky Derby. Just between you and me, she basically just gets all dolled up testing people's reactions to the color she is wearing, going bigger and bolder in her jewelry, how high can her shoes go, French Tip or some color? And here is another little secret! She's not so good at growing tulips!

4. Rut roh! She's caught on to her friends master scheme to keep the Mint Juleps more in control this year! Problem is her tulip garden is not so impressive, a little on the scrawny side, and they're running out of tulips to pour the mint juleps in! Bring tulips! This many tulips! Lotsa colorful tulips! This many tulips! Lotsa healthy tulips. This many tulips! Or more! And what about Tea? Tea could be the key! Colorful tulips less a few of the juleps equals Shelly Mae Shulep less a hollar and a hoolep! Add a little tea and we'll see!
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION:
Bring tulips. Everything's coming up tulips! Let's tiptoe through the tulips!
Bring tea! Tea for you, Tea for me, Tea for Shelly!
Feel free to bring something other than tea and tulips, just as long as it will keep Shelly Mae Shulep's mind off her Mint Juleps. If you bring mint juleps, you'll be thrown to the tulips! Yes, there is a section of the garden where the man-eating kind are grown! Oh, and you might just be banished to the back door if you do! Snicker Snort!
TEAPOT TUESDAY DESTINATION STATION:
This week's destination is Winnepeg, Canada. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to Kay. Kay is the soon to be 91 (on June 5th) year old grandmother of fellow Teapotter/SCSer Charlene (crystaldolphins). Charlene's mom has sure had a rough time with her health when she broke her elbow falling on some ice on February 18th. Due to her age the decision was made not to operate, she was put in a partial cast and admitted to the hospital! She is still in the hospital to this day due to some other health issues! By April 1st, surgery just had to be done! The surgery went well but her other health issues are keeping her hospitalized and she is sad and discouraged. She just wants to get back home!

I am fortunate that my Grandparents moved to Ca. to be near their daughters. It was my pleasure to spend time with both of them while they were still here on this planet in life form. Thank for this great challenge, Cindy! To honor and acknowledge our Grandparents is wonderful, they are our real treasures!
Here's my second card for this challenge! I have a couple of cards that I have to forward to my grandmother and I couldn't send the pkg without one of my own And it was the perfect excuse to work with Leigh's awesome digi!
Note: I have been receiving updates on my grandmother quite frequently and I just rec'd another one saying that she is in fact being released tomorrow (Tuesday, Apr. 19th). Yay! I'm so happy for her as it's been such a long haul in the hospital. My grandmother and my family will so appreciate any cards that are sent to her and huge hugs and thanks from me! She still has a battle ahead of her with her move, and weak arm so the cards will be a Godsend!
I used to live in good old "Winterpeg" a long time ago. The year I left they gave out certificates that you survived a winter where the temperatures never rose above -40 for 6 weeks. That was the coldest winter I've ever heard of. Falling on the ice is a common problem for the elderly and my own grandma fell and broke her hip at 92 and never recovered. You'll read in my comments about the masking 101 course I enrolled in. Here is my "A Mask-erade Party"
I combined mine with the Color Challenge, too, as well as the ODBD Shining the Light Challenge! I've already addressed the envie and I bought a 75 cent stamp for mailing to Canada.

I just got a lovely bouquet of lilac colored tulips and roses (we were not home when they tried yesterday) - if I did not know better I would have thought our son had peeked at the gallery!
I just happened to come across this challenge yesterday and I think what all of you do is amazing. I am sure you make the recipient's day when these cards arrive.
I'm not sure if I'll ever have the chance to participate, since work seems to get in the way of stamping - LOL! But I thought I'd pass along my thoughts.

Oh, what a nice message! Thanks so much for the kind words. We would love to have you come to a teaparty some time but realize its hard when people work.....but here is an idear for you!
I have an email group of Teapotters (anyone who plays the challenge) that I call Teapot Tuesday Cheaters! Every Friday (sometimes Saturday) I email the challenge for Tuesday out early so the cheaters can make their card over the weekend and get a jump on the Tuesday challenge posting.
So, if you have weekends off and want me to add you to the cheater group, just let me know. It might give you the opportunity to make your card over the weekend if you aren't working weekends.
