I am in Anchorage! And would love to stamp with someone. Do you have people you get together with or just you? I'm a 'just me' and sometimes my mom. Just moved back to AK last year. My mom is in Wasilla also

Will you be Stationed at Elmendorf AFB or the other one (I can't remember the name)? I'm guessing USAF cus your location is Scott AFB.

I'll be at Elmendorf AFB. I'm excited for the move...but apprehensive because we're moving in DECEMBER! Are there any get-togethers there? I'd be interested in getting together in the spring, once my unpacking is mostly finished...

So far, I'm on my own since my SU! demo moved. But I know there are other stampers here. And scrappers. And crafters in general. I just have no luck at finding people. Don't worry about moving here in Dec. It will be pretty much up hill from there. I think it's beautiful no matter what time of year it it. Even construction season and break up. Don't stress too much. Just be sure to go slow until you get used to the icey roads. Oh, and the yellow lights up here last forever, BUt if it comes down to it, run the red if you don't think you can safely slow down in time for the yellow. You'll love it!

We made it! Should have housing by tomorrow. Can't wait to get the stamping zone set up. Maybe we can have a stamping day!

YAY!!! I am soooooooo glad you made it!!!!! (Especially with ALL the kids and dh!!!!) Get your zone set up - so I can come stamp!!!! And, get ahold of Beth - she likes to stamp - she isn't on SCS, though. She likes to always "tweek" things and not follow the sample at workshops!! LOL!!! We always made fun of her doing it "Beth's Way" :p __________________

Trying to locate stamp stores here in Alaska, does anyone know of any. I did find Stamp Attic in Anchorage, which was fantastic.

AK stamp stores
Stamp Attic is is for Anchorage and then there is Stamp Cache in Palmer. If you are up for a road trip this week, we could take a trip out there. I need to go check out her stuff again since I had my hubby with me this past time and didn't have time to look at everything I wanted to! It is a great store and has a LOT of stamps. I take classes at Stamp Attic here and there because the people are so nice and it is fun to do. Have met some great people that way. Talk w/you soon.  |

Sorry haven't been back on this week...being a total bum this week! Did finish reading a book and started a second one.:eek: I would love to go to Stamp Cache, just let me know when! 
Since I have been a bum and not getting my boxes done I thought I would go a head and host a stamping/scrapping day for anyone that would like to come.
When: Monday, October 11th
Time: Anytime between 9am and 3pm (that way my kiddos are out of my hair!)
Where: my dwelling on Ft Richardson (will pm directions and important info to all who would like to come.

I fulfilled a dream a few years ago to visit our 49th state. I will be so jealous of you all come July & August! (I hate heat & humidity) I hope to return again to AK. Will the TSA let me on the plane with my paper cutter & favorite scissors?

Just got home from seeing the new Harry Potter movie here on Ft Richardson...it was so much fun, can't wait for it to come out on dvd so I can add it to my collection.lol So looking forward to the second half now.

So excited started a simple Christmas card last night which incorporates a family picture we had taken this summer while at a family reunion. Need to make fifty and so far I already have 5 completely done and the rest in various stages. Hope to have them all complete by this weekend, so I can start on some chocolate gift sets.
Hope you all are staying warm and enjoying yourselves.

Well, we're spending New Years Eve in Fort Nelson...hoping to make Elmendorf AFB by Tuesday. I'm REALLY looking forward to getting my stuff unpacked and settled. I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

A shoebox swap is when you creat a card and cut the supplies so everyone else at the swap can make your card while you are making theirs. So if there are ten stamps we would cut supplies for 9 since you won't want to make your own card at the swap. It's a fun way to get lots of great cards done and to visist with new or old friends. |

LOL! Yes, I was like who in the heck is texting me....I would say you could call but I think DD is yacking on the phone with her BFF. Apparently her mother was hospitalized the other day after having a bad reaction to meds.

Oh course you want pics, just wrapped it an hour ago...well of course not the quilt, still need to finish it and the bath mit.lol Will take pics of those for you. Did actually take pics of some completed cards to upload when I feel up to trying to figure out how I did it last time.lol |

YES - you MUST - so you can be done with the quilt AND take pics of it!!!
I got the calendars cut out this morning. Were supposed to be 4 x 6 - but they are not...need to be matted to be 4 x 6......grumble grumble!! That is all I got done on them as I had to go buy a new washer & dryer - the washer was a SMOKING - thankfully, I never leave the house with laundry going!! __________________
