These are such fabulous ideas! I love a good cheap trick.

My fave is to make homemade embossing folders (or plates) out of cereal boxes or grungeboard: Mel Stampz: Free hand D.I.Y. Cereal box Cuttlebug Embossing Plates

And of course, there are a zillion ways to make homemade flowers: Mel Stampz: 100+ Hot Crafty Flowers templates & tutorials (0ver 100 there)

I like to make DIY digital papers (that use barely any ink): Mel Stampz: Just Missing You! (damask digi paper freebie & tutorial)

and make homemade canvas cardstock from old pillowcases or fabric scraps and make die cut embellishments from it: Mel Stampz: "Hi Sweet Cheeks!" (Meet Emma & Wyatt)

and cut the edges off of nestabilities or other die cuts to get brand new shapes: Mel Stampz: Cheap Nestabilities trick (and a quickie 5 minute card)

and doodle & stitch beads on to make DIY embellishments (like a chandelier): Mel Stampz: A Black Tie Affair? (MFTeaser #2) or pomegranates: Mel Stampz: PGP Winter Walk Hop! (+Pomegranate digi freebie & beading tutorial)

and use stamping/pattern paper catalogues for embellishments or paper: Mel Stampz: Angel's Landing tutorial & a new(?) square punch scallop edge & Mel Stampz: Diorama tutorial (whole lotta glitter goin on!)

Okay, I'd better stop now. Sorry for rambling so much. Making things for free or cheap is an obsession of mine.
