Cathy aka Mutnik- Actually, hummers will quite often build their nest in windchimes. The bigger birds can't get in, and they are usually undercover. These windchimes rarely make noise due to where they are placed, they need a good north wind. They had just a few times, where they actually made noise last year. Then you just have to think of the birds getting rocked (nothing like in a tree though) and music to go along with it.
I didn't know anything about hummers until the nest last year. That's when I started researching them.
Here's the last photo I got of the 2 babies before the fledging. So sweet!
