Question Baker's Twine

Where's the best place to purchase Baker's Twine? I thought for sure Archiver's would have it, but nope... Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If you're not adverse to buying on-line, Papertrey Ink has a good supply. Find it here:

i can't believe the mark up on this!
Here's a listing on Amazon - over 3,000 yards (!!!) for $20.
Amazon.com: 3,360-Yards 4-Ply Red-and-White Bakers Packing Twine: Home & Garden

Or go right to the source and get the same amount for only $17

http://www.bakedeco.com/detail.asp?i...&keyword=twine

If I only had 20 friends that would go in with me on a purchase!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! Another place that has the Jillybean soup twine is "A Cherry on Top", for $2.99 with reasonable shipping. I liked the Really Reasonable Ribbon prices, plus they have an assortment so you get a little of each color. Thanks again!

In addition to twine I picked up at my LSS, I have some Martha Stewart Crafts twine that I purchased when they first introduced the line to Michael's. Given how popular it is, I wouldn't be surprised to see it in stores again as part of her Christmas collection. I do think that the Divine Twine that is being repackaged by a lot of manufacturers is far nicer than the MS twine in my stash, so there's probably a reason why some of it is so much less expensive.

Couldn't you just get real bakers twine at the grocery store and use re-inkers to colour to match your product? I saw a big spool of it today for about $2.

LOL! I bought MS Bakers Twine last year (before it was cool to have) as it was CUTE, it REALLY is strong too as I cranked some knots into it to get it to hold some stuff.. I Laugh about it being cool now and I also got my "COOL COLORS" from I {heart} Papers for Jillybean. Smaller more manageable amounts!!!! ;)

Not sure how this compares pricewise, but you get a really nice assortment in reasonable amounts:

I got the red and also a pack of the tiny brown lunch bags.
Be forewarned... the twine spool is HUGE! More twine than I, or my kids, or their kids will use in a lifetime I think LOL

I still love it and use it tons. It's thin enough to thread thru button holes too.

I got the giant rolls from this place, too. I got the red and white and brown and white. I am having such fun with it wrapping Christmas presents with the twine! There is so much on the roll, I can be lavish and triple it with a big bow.

I'm adding those cute glitter pipe cleaner (wrapped around a pencil to curl) embellishments for a really cute look. Check out Mish Mash's blog post here to see the pipe cleaners. Scroll down a ways to see how cute they are:

I've gotten mine from the Twinery.
Twine from Divine Twine and The Twinery are supposed to be thicker and softer. Just what I have heard. I love the twine from the Twinery.

I ordered from papertreats on Etsy because they came with MS's endorsement. I figure if she likes their twine it can't be half bad. And it's really nice twine.

You can pick which colours you want in your assortment and shipping to ON was very reasonable. I think it was $13.50 USD for 200 yards (on the cutest wooden spools) and shipping was pretty quick.

3,000 yards of bakers' twine? Wow, you could wrap a house!

I've had good luck with Jillibean's mentioned in post #3. It's bright; I've gotten some other types that were kinda dingy.

That said, if you want a neutral solid, try the # Tree. I got several cards of hemp cord there; they have 2 tones of cream - light and dark. 30 yds/$1. The only difference that I can tell between the bakers' twine and hemp cord I've bought is that the hemp is a little stiffer. I kinda like that b/c it holds a bow better once it's tied. Great price, too.

On paper the twine @ 'wesellcoffee' is a great deal. They have 3 & 4 ply ~3200 yards for $8.95 - 10.95. Has anyone purchased this and how is the quality compared to Devine Twine?

Okay Amber...never one to pass up a dare...I just HAD to calculate...

It would take 12,891 spools.

For all you who just have to know how to figure it...
Circumference of the earth: 24,901.55 miles.
Times 1760 yards in a mile.
Makes 43,826,728 yards for the circumference of the earth.
Divide by 3400 yards of twine per spool.
Gives 12,891 spools.
You'll have 2672 yards left for projects.

Do you realize that the spools with 3400 yards on them are just shy of 2 MILES of twine?????

I've thought about getting some. But I really don't want a ton of it.

Search Results

They have a good selection of Twine. I might have to go with them. They also fit my checkbook much better.

Anyone looking for spools - Olivia Place | Accessories (daily deal site that is started by Maya Road people) - has The Twinery spools today.

I am tempted but that is a lot of twine for the (little) amount of crafting I do

Am I missing something? All I see is a kiddie apron for $7.50 that's sold out!

Sorry Dotty - it was there during the day when I posted. That deal had been up the day before too, so maybe it sold out or something. I wish I had seen this post earlier or I would've posted sooner. Those sites typically change deals on a day to day basis (hence "daily deals sites"). Maybe it'll come up again.

The Twinery has purple now! I've never ordered from them, but someone on SCS recommended it. They have smallish samples or huge spools -- take your pick. Here's the link:
The Twinery — Welcome to The Twinery {Your Source for Fresh & Colorful Baker's Twine}

Hope this helps in your search.
