I LOVE embellishments - especially those pretty packaged embellies that are everywhere on the market! But... let's face it. These pretty packages can get expensive! So, here's my challenge for you: MAKE an embellishment for your card! Maybe you could stack a couple of buttons and tie them with twine... or create custom ribbon by coloring it with markers? Stamp an image and back it with layers of cardstock to create your own 'chipboard' element. The sky's the limit!

UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:

Have my flower made - waiting for it to dry! Went to YouTube for some ideas. Making my own embellishments is not the norm for me - my first thought was to pull out my Cricut and I thought "no, try something new". Will make and post a card in a bit!
I'm hoping to get a set of cards mailed out later today - got my first set mailed last week.
Dragonfly and Cattails
This would have been a great opportunity to try last week's tutorial for faux brads if time had been on my side, or a fancy flower if I didn't want to be able to use regular envelopes to fit my cello bags. So it's beading for my homemade embellishment. I love doing these, but it seems to me that whenever I send some to people, they are reluctant to use them on cards ;).

With the recent trend of making our own flowers, layering multi-ribbons &/or buttons, ruffling many things, etc ... this challenge seems to be right on the edge of the current 'stampin' scene'!
Here's my version, including a layered multi-loop ribbon + multi-loop cording beneath a corded button ... and then there's also the pinwheel ...
Yea!! I finally got this finished....I intended to brayer but that didn't work...can't wait till my class...so I sponged the bg instead...here is my winter sunrise
