This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge was suggested by Colleen (Smoatsmom) the amazing Sewing Illustration of Miyuki Sakai. She uses her sewing machine like a paintbrush and creates amazing art.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many choices, Ive uploaded three of my favorites so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. The rest of you, remember to let us know which product from Miyuki Sakai that inspired you (I dont think you can link to the actual pictures, so just let us know the Category). Click on the Category on the left, and then click on the thumbnail pictures on the right to see them full size.
Use the keyword: IC257 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.
oh my goodness, what goodness! Love this artist and there are so many things to find inspiration in!!! Can't wait to play...an empty house just me and our new kitty!

There should be no scrolling. You just need to click on the Categories on the left, and then click on the thumbnail pictures on the right to view them full size.
Oh my gosh! What a fabulous art form!! Here is the card I made for the challenge. It was inspired by a red floral teapot in the Cafe section of her site.
Very cool website...I had to change my zoom level to 50% to be able to see all the categories...the pics are a bit smaller...Hope that helps some...(the zoom level can be found at the very bottom on the right)
Incredible site, Stef. Hard to believe this was all done with a sewing machine....what artistry and PATIENCE!! Thanks for finding these super sites EVERY Saturday. I know we all appreciate it.
I found that if I used the page down button the options on the left moved down. To "scroll" on the thumbnails I had to click on one image then I could use the down arrow to see all the thumbnails. HTH
I guess I really should have got my sewing machine out this week!
I didn't - or not yet, anyway. Back in a while to see the other inspired creations. A Snail in the Grass
This is one of the most exciting sites you've chosen for us. I am totally amazed at this woman's magical art with a sewing machine. Considering I bought a machine just for cards and have been afraid to lift it out of the box, this really blows my mind! I have an action-packed day but look forward to creating something inspired by Miyuki Sakai. Thanks.
This is a very cool inspiration. Miyuki Sakai's art is so amazing! I loved this challenge. I used the yellow fennel flowers from her garden collection for inspiration and of course I had to stitch on my card.
