Can you believe it is November 1st already?! When did that happen?! I am pretty certain that yesterday was like June. It's now time to kick the holiday crafting into HIGH gear.
~ Embedded Image Technique ~
Today I'm going to share with you a technique that I sort of stumbled upon when I was playing. I researched online and on SCS and cannot find another tutorial for this, so I'm claiming it unless someone else can show me otherwise . It's super easy and has great results. You can either download the word.doc I've attached here or you can view the step by step on my blog HERE.
Cool! I've never EVAH seen this technique anywhere. Really cool, thanks for sharing!! Not sure if I will get to play tomorrow or not. I am behind on some swaps and tomorrow is packed with work. I will be lurking for sure though! Blessings, Lela
It reminds me a bit of Stampendous "Painting with Powder" technique. I usually get started with the technique on Sunday evening but the kids are very active tonight with Halloween so it looks like I won't be getting to this until tomorrow. Looks like a lot of fun Holly, can't wait to get at it.
Your sample looks fabulous Holly.
I know when I've used ordinary EP on top of UTEE, the UTEE crazes, and the only other clear I have is detail - which I see Faith says didn't work at all for her. So I'll wait till the afternoon when I may be feeling a bit more energetic and experimental. But it certainly looks cool!
Beautiful card, great technique! I'm overly fond of embossing, so this will be fun if I can find a second or two today to play (and more than an inch or two on my currently buried table...) Thanks for sharing a new way to play!
WOW...what a great technique, Holly! You clever girl!! : ) I enjoyed making this card and am sure I will be using your technique again. Thanks SO much!!
Holly, Thank you a million times over for introducing this technique. I am not usually a technique stamper, but after trying this technique....I am hooked on this one. It was fun to create using the embedded image. (I had a mis-hap only one time but the 2nd time it worked.) Again, thanks, for hosting a great Monday challenge.
Here is my second card for the challenge: With Sympathy
This piece was my first try. The vintage verdigris that I used for embossing...it sort of blurred into the image. So, I thought I would try and stamp over that with black embossing and it worked. I was glad I was able to "save" a mistake.
A great technique Holly. I didn't have any clear EB pdw so I had to improvise but I think I still stayed true to the challenge. It also gave me a chance to finally use my new Tim Holtz leaf die. Here is my "Embedded Trees"
