A felt flower... All Felted Up and Shabby... I have been meaning to cut up some new felt I had, so this was the perfect opportunity!

Any suggestions as what to do if felt isn't something in your stash?

Well you could cut up any left over fibers that you have, as in chop up bits of ribbon and twine and threads (a bit of wool if you have it) etc into very small slivers, from there:

Make yourself a very small bowl of the following:
A minute amount of dishwashing liquid
A good spash of water
In a little bowl or top of a jar lid or something similar

Then:

Lay fibres on a piece of plastic, all in the centre
Dab your fingers in the bowl of water/detergent
Rub your wet fingers over the top of the fibres
They will meld together
Try to get them into a circle like shape
Soon you will have a shabby looking roundish flower
Rub hard
Once it looks like it will hold together pick it up and put it in between your two palms and rotate in opposite directions, this will firm up the felting (squeeze water out as it becomes too wet, and keep doing this until it is reasonably dry)
At the end you can hit it with a heat gun or squeeze between two pieces of paper towel to make it dry enough to glue onto your project
When bound you could put a button in the middle of it.

You will then have a felted flower... hope this helps!

Thanks I did hunt around and found some Halloween shaped felt pieces - I know it's a little late to do a Halloween card but....

I've had these felt flowers so long they were gathering dust. A perfect time to pull them out.

I got a card made for this challenge - it can be found here:

HYCCT16 Felt Ghosts by muzbysmom by muzbysmom - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

The only felt I could find is for Halloween but MAYBE if I get it mailed off early next week they will be able to use it this year!

Bev, this is a cool challenge and I love your sample. I already know what I'm going to do so I'll be back later with my creation for the challenge. I hope everyone will try to participate so we have LOTS of cards for MD Anderson. Thanks!

Love this one!!! Here's mine.

I do have a question - I don't have any clear envelopes - do you know where I can get those or will they accept a regular envelope?
