Default The search for the perfect blender pen.

I would love to be able to use my inks for coloring while I'm building up my copic collection and I'm on a hunt for the best blender pen.

HL today was out of the Marvy brand so I couldn't buy one to test out. If anyone has this I would love to know what your results were.

I did pick up a Inkadinkado and the nub is very hard and rips my paper, if anyone else has one does yours do that? It's also dark yellow/brown in color while the other end is soft and white, not sure if I might have gotten a bad one. Again, let me know what yours is like, I'll email the company if it isn't supposed to be this way.

I'm sure Stampin' Up is great but I can't justify having to order it (with that outrageous shipping) when I might only need a blender pen at some point. I like being able to pick something up when I need it, not wait till I can place a big order to justify the shipping.

Any others that I don't know about?

I have tried a few blender pens (cant remember the brands because it was a while back) and the ONLY one I have been happy with is the Stampin Up ones ... I know this doesnt help you, but this is my experience. Maybe someone else has had better luck with others.

I personally love the Dove Blender pen. I recommend getting the refill bottle with it so you can both clean your nib and keep it juicy. I am not sure if you can buy it at local craft stores. I bought mine online years ago. I am still using the same nib and refill bottle. I really disliked the Marvy blender. Tried a couple before finding the Dove blender and it never seemed to work well for me. As for your Inkadinkado pen, I think you may have purchased a bad one.

Tombow blender pens work great with water-based markers!

I don't mind ordering one when I can get a refill for it. I just know if I order the Stampin' Up pen it will run out and then I'll have to wait for a month or more to get another.

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll have to track down the Dove pen and refill.

I also love my TomBow Blender Marker- I use it with my distress inks for coloring and my watercolor pencils. It was really reasonable at 2.20 a piece - I purchased 3 at 1 time. I am interested in the Dover Blending Pen though.

I was able to purchase a dove blender pen from Amazon.com, I bought one at a stamp show and they didn't put it in my bag, so when I got home I had tips and a refill but no pen. It just arrived here a week or so, not real sure how to use it but I am guessing I will learn. The lady demonstrating did a fine job I purchased it;)

Have used Stampin' Up, Marvy, and Dove. My vote would be for Dove!

Here's where I got mine:
Dove Re-fillable Blending Pens - Waterbrush Sets

I've ordered from this company many, many times. They're headquartered up the hill from me and are super nice folk.

Hope this helps!

Blessings,
Kat

Speaking of blender pens.... my Stampin Up demonstrator told me that if my SU blender pen became dry that I could bring it in to her and she can take the nib off and refill it. She said she has the "solution". (Excuse the pun !) She didn't seem to want to tell me what the "solution" was and I didn't ask. Does anyone know what it would be ?
Thanks

I tried it but it never really blends as well as when you buy your pen new. Just my opinion but I would just buy a new one.

I think Dove and Stampin Up blender pens are the best.

Would the Dove blender pen refill work?

I refill my SU blender pens with Dove and don't have any problems but then I'm not a big fan of blender pens so I may not notice any difference. The only time I use blender pens is if a stamped image needs a little filling in. I prefer using a paint brush instead of blender pen.
