WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY AND CHALLENGE #106
HEY, GET OFF THE MOUND!
YOU'RE NO BAD NEWS BASSETHOUND!!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun!
Before I get started with the story, I have a request. From time to time I like to communicate with the teapotters (aka ~ anyone who plays in a Teapot Tuesday Challenge). You never know when I might have some important teapotter announcements. If you would like to be included please email me at [email protected] with your email address and I will add you to the Teamail Group!
This is my story!
1. Okay, so how could I ever resist featuring this cute little teapot! Giggle! Don't ya just love him?? As long as I have been doing Teapot Tuesday, I am still blown away at all the fun teapots I have not featured! Yikes! We've got quite a future ahead! Yay!
2. Meet Boscoe, the Bassethound! As a wee little puppy, he grew up in the same household as a little fellah who loved baseball and whose favorite movie was
The Bad News Bears! As Boscoe grew up, he discovered he had a knack for playing fetch, fielding ground balls, batting with a stick (yes, its amazing, stick in mouth) and sliding into bases quite successfully despite his barrel body and short legs! He began to think those Bad News Bears were a bunch of sissys! He's da man! He can do it all! It just might be a Bassethound thing! Hmm.....that got the ole wheels to turnin'! The Bad News Bassethounds! Yup, a team of Bassethounds will kick butt! And he's got so many friends that getting a team of 12 put together will be cake ! His friends will do anything he threatens! (might have something to do with the fact that he's quite large!)
3. What's up with that? He never even dreamed his talents for baseball were not every Bassethound's talents! Could he honestly be the only talented one? He doesn't even care that the whole team he recruited just walked out on the first practice! He doesn't wanna hear another complaint! I am draggin' my belly! I am stuck on the base! It's too hard to run clear out there! It hurts my teeth to hold on to this stick! Move that base when I slide in, it hurts my belly! I am too short to catch that fly!!
Get off my Field!! Bah! Bassethounds (except for him) are a bunch of sissys! On to Plan B cuz why should he waste his own talents?
4. Hey, I am not a meanie, Queenie! Queenie is a Weenie (Dashund) who thinks she's a Bassethound living life petite, extra short and un-spotted! We gotta get some new talent, big bad macho sports minded dogs like me! With me heading up this team, the sky is the limit! He's thinking 42,000 to nuttin' the first game played!! Whut? Heck no, we are not gonna change the name of the team! I am a Bassethound and proud of it and so are you (sorta!) The Bad News Bassethounds it will be! Besides, it's catchy and due to the infamous Bad News Bears , maybe the name will get us some extra attention! Hey, get off the mound! You're no Bad News Bassethound! Darn that Curt the Squirt, who invited him??
Boscoe needs recruits.....big bad baseball brutes.....but he has to draw the line, they gotta be dogs! Bring your baseball dogs, baseball cards, coaches, team captains, bat boys, umps and referees. Bring your bats, (yah a dog bone's okay) mitts, and baseball hats! If you bring a belly draggin' short little Bassethound, he better be able to play or you're coming in the back door!
Get ready all you baseball, I mean, Baseball Bassethound fans! We're talkin' homeruns, shut-outs, stolen bases and triple plays. You didn't know I knew so much about baseball stuff did ya? Me neither!!
TEAPOT TUESDAY #106 DESTINATION STATION:
This week we are sending our cards to little 10 year old boy who is a baseball player through and through and a member of the
Elm Grove Eagles! His name is Andrew ~ #8 and he was brought to my attention by Charlene
(cookiebaker) . Andrew has multiple brain tumors and is not doing so well right now. He loves baseball and loves his fellow team members. And they love him! They are so good to Andrew that they all shaved their heads in his honor and are referring to themselves now as the Elm Grove *Bald* Eagles! Giggle! Gives me warm fuzzies.
The details (including address) are
here in Post #87 of the
Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread if you chose to send a card to Andrew. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is strictly voluntary.
I have recruited 13 great SCSer's to make a sample for Andrew and in honor of each of Andrew's fellow Team Members.
