TLC284~ Plaid Silhouettes ~ (08/02/10)
Hello everyone!!! Boy, do I have an AWESOME challenge for you today!!! I played around with this technique about a year ago and finally developed a tutorial to share. Today we are going to make some
Plaid Silhouettes!!
Do you have any solid stamps that you don't use because you can't get even ink coverage?? Well, today you don't have to worry about even coverage because we are going to create a little plaid!!
Here is a link to the tutorial on my blog.
Deets:
1. Pick a lighter base color and ink up solid stamp.
2. Pick a medium and a darker color for the plaid lines.
3. Using the very edge of the ink pad, start from right to left at an angle and tap one of the ink pads the length of the stamp in 1/4 to 1/2 inch lengths.
4. Using the other color, start in the opposite direction to create crossed plaid lines...move down the stamp at 1/4 to 1/2 inch lengths using just the very edge of the ink pad.
5. Now stamp on cardstock.
6. Don't you just love this look!!!
Here are my samples:
Plaid Birthday Cake
Friend for all Seasons
Plaid Posies
When uploading your creation, please remember to
Use Keyword TLC284 (no spaces)
You can view the entire TLC284 gallery here
Have fun!!!

Here is my ATC for my ATC Technique Album. Plaid ATC
I know nobody but me cares, but I caught up today. I have all 284 TLCs in my ATC album--and I've done most of them myself. (a few are from swaps) Whoop! Celebrate!
Here is my non-ATC Plaid card: Butterscotch Daisies

Hmm, I know I have not too many solid stamps for that very reason, but I think I can envisage a plaid elephant - as soon as I get a load of wash sorted and on. Joan, this sounds like a lot of fun!

I'd love to try it with a floral but we have to leave in half an hour. This was definitely fun. Thank you, Joan.

Joan, I'm lovin' your technique of creating plaids with ink pads! I like the "artsy" effect one gets....not so regimented. I thought it might be fun to create a bg using your technique. Thanks, again!
LOVE YOU
