It wasn't until I was uploading my new card that I realized that this was #49 and it would have been cool to do this one next week... oops :p
The theme this week is to make birthday cards for people turning fifty (or any significant mid-life age.) I have a hard time with these cards. Some people are depressed and want to be cheered up. Some people take it in stride and just want to party and be recognized. Your card doesn't have to say "50" or "over the hill". It can be simple or elaborate, beautiful or funny. Try to use stamps sets that were not intended to be for mid-life birthdays. Show us your ideas with common stamps sets The samples use Best of Cluck, Loads of Love, Simple Shapes, Tags & More, and Island Blossoms. Take a look!
*Please remember to put LSC49 in the keyword box when uploading!*
I just wanted to say that I'm going to be on a field trip tomorrow with my kiddies. So, I won't be able to check in at lunch time. If anyone has any questions about the challenge or uploading, anyone feel free to step in I'm soooo glad we have so many new people playing in the challenges recently. All are welcome! Happy stamping!
WOW, my card a sample! A first for me. Can you see me doing the happy dance.. Just a note. It really is a limitted supply. I don't own any numbers. Think I will have to invest.
I have an idea. Although I am tempted to call in sick - cough, cough - I shall restrain myself and play later. However, as I am menopausal I will write my idea down, lest I forget it and you hear pitiful screams this evening.

Dang, I did a few really pretty cards earlier this month for a 50th bday but I gave them away already.
I did this for my sister's 40th bday, but could easily be for over 50. I will make another one (as we are doing a gag bday party for my brother who is turning 39 this year). Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
This will be a challenge! Hmmmm - maybe an over the hill card with the truck from Loads of love.....(maybe I should check the cards in your links so I am not stealing any ideas....)

Lucky me! I was up early and playing with my new set.... then I saw this challenge!! Perfect since I was making a card for my SIL who is turning 50 (when did she get so old!!LOL!!!)
I love this sentiment I got at Michael's, it is perfect for birthdays.
Thanks for looking!
Ok, so I didn't plan to do the challenges this week because I'm trying to get 60 swaps made for the regional in 2 weeks - but then I just had to go and look at today's Limited Supply Challenge. My sister turns 70 next week and could use a laugh. She and her husband take loving care - in their home - of our 91-year-old Mom who has Alzheimer's. My sister is one of the most wonderful Christians I know and is one of my best friends.
The sun visor on the image has red glitter, the earring has a red bead, embossed the HP with EE and I embossed this old gal's red purse and shoes. Since both my sister and I have become quite BUXOM in our later years, I knew she would relate to this. Thanks for looking - and reading this, if you did.
I can't wait to do this challenge! Thanks Jen! I need to make a card for my dad who turns 65 in March! I better get off this computer and get started. Be back soon...

Here's another! I am so bummed out with my scanner and camera.... I can't seem to get a good scan, or a good clear photo lately. The color seem so off! Oh well.... here it is!
Great challenge Jen. Will have to tuck this away for a big birthday. The chalking is much darker than the scan and does not really look all that good. I hope that it was okay to use some Hodgepodge hardware on this card. I did use just one set, AGESLESS ADORNMENT, which seemed really appropriate to this challenge. Hope your field trip was fun. It is pouring here in MA.

ROTFLOL!!! LOVE the inside of that!!! SO creative using part of a 'heart' (in pink) and 'steam' (in green)!!!!!
O.K. So this is my first time participating in a challenge. It was fun! I hope I did this right. Here's my card (pending approval!):LCS49
I also did one with this same set a while back that fits the challenge. If you want to see it it's here: Vintage Birthday
Thanks for the challenge and thanks for looking.
This is a good challenge. There are a lot of really great ideas out there. Sorry I don't have time to comment on them today so if I missed anyone, I'm sorry.

Wow!! I'm so honored you used one of my cards as a sample. I was wondering why I was still getting so many comments. Thank you, and thank you everyone for taking the time to tell me your thoughts about my card. I really enjoy this site. With all your inspirations I'm almost ready to stop buying all those card magazines. Thanks again and happy stampingto all!
Here's one from my gallery that I did for my SIL's 40th birthday. I hope to have some time tomorrow to do another one so for now here is this one!
Thanks for looking... Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Happily stampin' away the day!
Well nap time was a bust...I did get a card started last night, and boy did it take on a whole new direction from my original idea. I just finished it and I'm uploading it now. I will post the link when it's approved...hope y'all like it.
Well, the image is still pending, but DH (and I don't mean dear at the moment) is cranky and I need to put all my stuff away...so here's the link Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Okay, I uploaded my card for this challenge, but I still don't know how to make a link to it, so it is called Yesterdays Gone and there is an inside and outside. You have to be sure to read the verse or the front won't make much sense. TFL

Great challenge! Thanks for posting, Jen!
My brother and my dad are both having birthdays in the next two weeks, so this was a great opportunity to make some fun cards for them! Both are having "milestone" birthdays, but neither is turning 50. The colorblocked card could have a number added to the plain rust square- I am still debating about whether to add it.
Here is mine....I just had to make this card as I saw this sentiment on a card a couple years ago and didn't have the guts to give it to my friend...I've been wishing I had ever since, so here is my version...
Here's mine. As soon as I saw this challenge posted I knew what I was making; just had to find the time. Hopefully the link works, servers are acting up again.
