MMTPT99 ~ THIS RAIN'S INSANE! LET'S TAKE THE BIRDBRAIN TRAIN!
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY AND CHALLENGE #99
THIS RAIN'S INSANE! LET'S TAKE THE BIRDBRAIN TRAIN!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun!
This is my story!
1. It's funny where my inspiration for teaparty locations comes from! This week's teaparty was inspired by this post on my blog. When I recently purchased this little family of birdiesand commented to my sister (an avid bird collector) that it would be fun to collect them, she got all excited and said cool, now we can be Birdbrains together! Snort! Right then and there I thought to myself, we gotta have a teaparty on the Birdbrain Train! Doesn't that sound like fun? I don't think we've tea partied on a train yet!
2. Byrdella, the Bluebird has quite the dilema. She's a very famous Birthday Party Planner and is in great demand! Not only is she meticulous in planning her birthday parties, perfect in every little detail, but she is quite reasonable! You see, she and her staff can fly to all the different birthday party locations on their own so she has no airfare expense and she passes that savings along to her clients! She just doesn't need to charge much for her services! She's not the materialistic type, just never has been! Birdseed is cheap (cheap! cheap!) and that's really all she spends her consulting fees on! Well, I take that back, she has a little fetish for bird baths and has been known to splurge a couple of times a year on the latest and greatest!
3. Byrdella has a very important birthday party planned this week in California and despite her many phone calls, text messages, and e-mails that Mother Nature seems to be ignoring, it continues to rain! Her staff heard that Mother Nature is all bent outa shape cuz a group of 42,000 renegade robins decided to map out their own flight plans and she's sick of dealing with the reports of near misses! She's put a moratorium on flights by making it rain! How's Byrdella and her crew supposed to get to the birthday party in California if they can't fly for cheap? (cheap! cheap!). They have to get there with 75 birthday cards, 75 cupcakes, 75 candles, and 75 birthday wishes by the 25th!
4. Spock, The Hawk (he's addicted to Star Trek re-runs!) is Byrdella's bodyquard and right hand man and although he has a macho, tough bird, don't mess with me image to uphold, he often comes up with great solutions to birthday party dilemas! This Rain's Insane! Let's Take the Birdbrain Train!! At that point most of Byrdella's staff walked out, do you know how long it takes to travel by train? How can the Birdbrain Train be the Birdbrain Train with no birds? That's where we come in! Bird, Bird, Bird, Bird's the word! Bring birds! 75 of them! Bird's with birthday wishes, birds with birthday cakes, birds with birthday balloons, candles and presents! And if you only have the more conservative type bird, that's okay too, you just have to come in the back door!
It just so happens that Byrdella's birthday planning in California is for the 75th birthday of the mother of one of our very own teapotter's! Lynda (Clyndago) has asked our help in getting 75 cards to her mom for her 75th birthday on the 25th!! And guess what? Lynda's mom LOVES birdies! We have a destination this week for our cards! How fun is that! And to all of you who have a tendancy towards goofy cards, no problem! Lynda's mom would love some birthday giggles too!
Speaking of a destination for our cards.......I have decided to start a new thread in the Teapot Tuesday Challenge Forum called Teapot Tuesday Destination Station. When our Teapot Tuesday Challenge is combined with a card drive, I will post the information there. The address and information on Lynda's Mom's birthday party is listed on Post #4 here. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your card. It is strictly voluntary.
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT99 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? I am posting a sneak peak (tea peek) on my blog each week showing you a glimpse of the following week's teapot as well as a hint of the story! It's at the end of the Teapot Tuesday Post each week. I usually post it a couple days after the Tuesday Challenge is posted. So, be sneaky and get a jump on the other tea-potters! Snort!
If you are confused about these challenge, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges.
This will be a fun challenge. It is not so late, but my bird brain turns to bird seed early but I should be back in the morning! Thanks for the story and the new sticky (though I have a hard time keeping up...!)
I have a hard time keeping up too Dorothy! Thats why I am so far behind on the Acardame Awards!!! Although every week we have lots and lots on candidates! Snort! See ya in the morning!
A birdbraintrain ride all the way to California. Woohoo. All aboard! Sounds like great fun, Cindy. Tanks, girl.
Hi Anne! Thanks for the comments I been seeing from you in the Teapot Forum.....I probably have missed responding to some but I am seeing them. I getta a kick outa you, so when you have something to say, I am quick to listen! Giggle!
Cheep cheep, cheep cheep! There ain't no rain to waterlog my feathers, but I'd never get to CA by the 25th :-(. I'll try to play along after work and maybe send it to jaydekay instead, but we're having a neighbour over for dinner so I have some cooking to do when I get home, and I may not arrive till tomorrow. But knowing me I'll manage to fit something in .
What a totally fun and sweet pot.
Sorry I haven't made it to the Tea Parties lately, Cindy! Real life gets in the way sometimes! Couldn't miss the train ride to California, though! Here is my card: MMTPT99 A Little Birdie Told Me by cmsuto at Splitcoaststampers
This little birdie is bringing big birthday wishes for Lynda's Mom!
I LOVE the idea of a birdbrain train; although I totally refute any suggestions that I am birdbrained, I am all for a trip on the train this week.
I'll be back most likely tomorrow with a card that will let me in the front door, but for today I'm stuck in the guard's carriage at the back with my Bird in Flowers which has nothing to celebrate a birthday with.
I do have some scrumptious strawberry sorbet to bring along, and maybe by tomorrow there'll be some meringues to go with it :p.
maybe Byrdella could stick a bumper sticker on the train that says "my other vehicle is wings"
Here's my hummingbird card, but now that I see the photo upload, I think I'll go back and color the rest of the white spots on the hummer, he looks unfinished.
You may think it's the rain that's insane, but my DH thinks it's me. I told him the story, he listened, then shook his hed, and walked away. Is the rubber room ready? I think I should be packing now.

OMGosh! You ALL are so wonderful!! Mom will be completely surprised and overwhelmed with your love!!! Can't wait to see her reaction as the cards start coming in! Thank you all for making Mom's day so special!!
Hugs,
Lynda
So fun! Combined mine with the color challenge and used My Digital Studio. . .this card can fly at the speed of the internet. . .love to send electronic greeting cards and/or post on friend's FB wall!
Oh this looks to be quite a fun challenge this week. So glad to be "bird-brained". We've been monitoring a bluebird family in our yard and have five little baby blues right now so this Five on a Branch is fitting I think.
I so wanted to come to this week's tea party, but I had to have an MRI and I am seeing the Ortho tomorrow. I have tears in my ankle tendons. I hope it can be fixed. I hope Mudder has something special planned for our 100th teapot Tuesday!

Birdy Birthday.
I made it, I made it. I made a cake for Nancy and I made it over to the party with another bird - and I have some meringues from last night left too to bring along, even though DH had one (or more?) for breakfast this morning. Healthy eating, how are you!!
I finally caught a train! Whoo Hoo! See how I did it. Go here . :0)

Whooo....finally made it to the train depot....only seats left were in the rear car but that's where the party gals want to be....here's my party chicks card
I made my card last night for this challenge but it was too dark to upload. No good picture.
So my birdie will be late but he's coming! I have to go to LA tonight and will be back tomorrow.
Look for him later then. Better a late bird then no bird.....
He missed the train and he has christmas tree feet so he can't really fly. he just sort of hops from tree top to tree to and pinches his feet together.
OMG! Dawn...where have you been girlfriend! You musta got hung up in all of your cookbooks! Snort! I will look forward to seeing your birdbrain card! Have a good trip and we will see you when we see you! Hopefully soon!
Mom called last night to say she had received 8 more since these pics were taken...and wants me to do an update in a few days! Mudder, Nancy is your kinda gal...after receiving cards saying Happy 75th, she told me, "but they've got it wrong...I'm only 57!!" Hmmmm....
