WT267 Mixing Patterns (04/22/09)
Anyone else love to mix up patterns? Whether they are stamped or patterned paper, I'm in love with all the pattern I can get. Today I'm challenging you to mix it up with me! Mix up some fun prints in our WT267 Ways to Mix Patterns challenge. How do you like to use pattern? I can't wait to see!
Thanks so much Faith for stepping in last week and saving the day. Thank you all for your well wishes and offers of future help as well. Joshua is much better now. We ended up in the hospital for most of the day last week as he'd been diagnosed with pneumonia but he's now almost better. I appreciate your concern.
Please remember to put WT267 in your keywords section and post a link back here on this thread so that we can all see your work.

Thanks so much for playing along!
Have a great and creative day,
Julia

Intimidation!
I am so glad to hear your son is doing well. I am so intimidated by mixing patterns that I rarely do it. I will try to do a card later today.

Glad to hear you son is getting better, Julia. This technique is scariest to me - no way can I mix patterns and think it looks right. I am looking forward to seeing everyone's creations - might help me learn.

If you're looking for safe...stripes go with everything and so does text. Dots too. Good luck with it!

A good reason to use up some Basic Grey
.
There was a great sketch on the CCEE blog this morning, so I'll see if I can combine.

Just printed out your article and will have to keep it safe for all future efforts. Thanks so much. Everyone at SCS is so generous with their knowledge.

I almost never mix patterns and usually stick with just one patterned paper per card - so this was a challenge!

I don't know why I have such a hard time using patterned papers, 'cause I do this ALL THE TIME on quilts, but I hardly ever use even one piece of dp on cards. This will definitely be a challenge -- maybe I'll have to make a paper quilt!

That was a helpful article, thanks Julia.
I used papers that I wouldn't be likely to use in the normal run of things.
Floral Thanks

Same here! I never really mix patterns much because I'm terrible at it!!! This will be a good challenge for me, but my card will probably stink LOL. I'll see if I can get the "chores" done so I can "play".
